Thread: Anybody sold batteries [or anything] lately? (Or: DEs kicked in the jimmy, again?)
I'm a novice DE; I only have Blueprints 1 right now. For the past couple of weeks I've made decent money selling crates of droid batteries. It's not making me rich, but it was enough to keep my harvesters running so I could continue the grind. I would usually sell 5 or so crates per day.
Since the patch, I haven't sold a single crate.
I'm hoping that this is just temporary while mounts are still a novelty, but I'm worried it's more or less permanent. The biggest problem is that battery sales being downis also an indicator that droids aren't being used at all.Now that non-handler creatures are useful to more people, has everyone completely abandoned droids? At least before it seems you'd see people with their probots out. Now those people have their mounts out instead.
Anybody else finding that sales are down, even from their previously pitiful state?
It's only been four days since the patch. In my experience I've seen days-long streches of not selling anything, and spans of time where business simply booms. The latter is much for frequent though.
One possible thing to consider in your current situation - if your only offering is droid batteries (assuming through a vendor) it's difficult to get people to go to a vendor for only one product. If selling through the bazaar, check out prices on other people's batteries; someone may be selling theirs for significantly lower prices than yours.

Thanks for the reply. I had a pretty steady business before, selling very reasonably priced crates through the bazaar. I sold a couple crates off my vendor, but the majority of business was through the bazaar. My prices haven't changed and there's little or no competition on the bazaar for batteries, so other than the addition of mounts I can't explain the sudden drop in business.
Creatures mounts have put a downer on my droid sales too. It's to be expected, mounts are new and cool, even usefull. Few people have enough money for luxuries such a Droids after purchassing their over-priced mounts. Everything will be fine in a week or two after the novelty wears off.
I see this as a good oportunity to build up invetory, and actually do missions instead of hawking my wares. A forced holliday! ![]()

Agreed .. my sales have slowed to a crawl also. I'd imagine they will return in about a week or so. Im using this time to scout out the other planets and find that rare or high quality metal which im running out of back at the shop.

I'm still selling droids and batteries at the same rate I always have (but to be fair my sales volumes were never that great, I'm lucky if I sell one droid a day). Droids are certainly still using power and needing batteries as the use of my Probot over the weekend attested to :-(
I dont see how mounts can directly be attributed to loss of droid-related sales (except due to perhaps lack of money) people can still call a droid as well as a creature and its not like creature mounts have replaced existing droid mounts or anything.
Heh, forgot to addI normally turn off my title when away from Tat/Bestine to avoid tells whilst hunting. I had 2 orders within 30 seconds of logging on Sunday from buyers on Endor just because they saw my MDE title. IMHO lots of players still want droids, most don't know squat about them or what they want in them they just want their ownC3PO or an R2D2 to play with.
