Thread: DZ70 Droid?
The treadwell and dz70 can do as much or less than most other droids in the game. There is honestly not a lot of reason to buy one, aside from looks, and I can't even SHOW you what the DZ70 looks like, since it's not made from a chassis. I COULD show you what a Treadwell looks like, if we're in a place where I can call it, but without there being an advanced chassis to have in my showroom I'm rather stuck.

Mainly becuase if anything coning light blue or green were to look at a DZ-70, the DZ-70 would be incaped.
But for the majority of crafters who just want to be able to craft anywhere in town (bank, starport, etc) combat is not a real issue. Besides, can't I give it the same armor as any other droid? Doesn't it (the advanced model) have two general slots and one armor slot? That would make it as useful as any other droid in game currently.
Or are you saying that the other droids would not be aggro'ed on and the DZ70 would be?
I tested a DZ-70 in battle. He got incapped in 1 hit from a diseased nuna. Thats ok it works fine as a clothing/armor crafting station.
Concerning the tredwell. I really like the little tank. Mines a repair droid and i just pull him out in towns im in instead of my probot. People never see one and a couple have bought them for that very reason. Sometimes the obscure droids are more desirable then the common ones.
The problem here, is that the majority of people that want a droid for non-combat uses want;
- A specific droid they saw in the movies and fell inlove with (usualy an R2, R5 or Protocol)
- A cheap but cool looking droid (usualy an R5)
- A droid that will do all thefunctions they want, and be the colours they want (usualy an R2)
- A medical droid (usualy a Surgicalm R2 or Probot)
My point is that 9 times of 10, customers want a droid they've seen in the movies ... or want an absolute specific model. In many people's opninions the DZ70 is an ugly little brother of the Probot .. why have the ugly little brother when you can have the older brother for not much more?
For me personaly, as a DE, I wish I could own atleast one version of EVERY droid we can build .. but alas being restricted to 5 droids leaves me with an issue. Mine being;
- I love the R2 units and have one I consider a "friend". Little Arwyn, the gold R2 unit, has made quite a name for herself in Bestine on Starsider and is probably more known that me
She is also my droid repair unit. - I want a probot for my combat needs, not my crafting needs
- I want a droid that I don't use for personal reasons to demonstrate droid customisation and uses, and the R5 series is THE best for customisation, since the whole droid gets painted.
- I need a power droid for all those times when someone is screaming for a battery, and I don't have time to craft one (also waiting eagerly for the day I can call more than one).
This means I'm basicaly left with one remaining droid slot.. a slot that really needs to be left for the occasions where I am forced to take control of a customer droid to sort it out.
