Thread: Maybe there's hope??

Just sent my Probot to attack a level 26 Mauler standing with two othe Maulers. The Probot engaged the target, they battled, and the Probot won with only minor damage. The other Maulers did not attack either me or the Probot. The Probot actually returned to me, uncalled, after the battle!

I then had the Droid attack the second Mauler. Same results!

Third Mauler, and again, I was not attacked, and the Probot was victorious, returning to me once more.

Seems that maybe we CAN survive Pub 20!!

With my luck, the mobs will just bypass my droid and attack me.

Not only will the need for combat droids go down because of this, CH will take a large blow to their usefullness.

As long as you stay back a little ways, the droid will take aggro approximately 8 out of 10 times. At least those were the numbers that I saw on Test Center. Combat Droids, when working correctly, will walk through most of the mobs upto CL32, with little effort. The only issues that I have seen are with Probots, and that is due to the bugged attack.

As for it being a blow to CH....

I think its all a crock of bantha poodoo. I have had a CH for a while now and can do things that most other professions can not. Too many people expect CH to be a stand alone profession. It is not. No single profession can be considered a stand alone profession any more. If you want to be uber, then you have to pay the priceby picking up skills that compliment your character. My CH has the following template and I can solo any non-bracketed CL 85...

Master Creature Handler / Master Bounty Hunter / Novice Combat Medic / 0404 Medic / 4040 Scout / 0004 Marksmen.

I can even take on3 CL80s at once without any assistance. My secret? I use 3 pets around CL20 and 1DZ70 with Combat and Medical.Maybe I'm just uber, which is another crock. I just understand the use of tactics and using what is provided to me.

Not the Health, the armor rating, check your data pad and single click on your droid

Duh!! Some sharp DE I am! I read the question the way I expected to see it!

Armor is rated at 1217. I never have had any problems since Pub 19 with my droids - even the Probot. I removed all the pre-pub 19 droids from my vendors, and have sold a ton of Probots since, all with auto-repair modules, without a single complaint. Maybe it's just my server.

At what range was your Probot attacking its targets?
It should be fine over 30m, any closer and it will start acting funny.

*sigh*

Another thing to try would be to craft a quick droid and see if the AE sticks after the 2nd call.

The Probot started attacking approximately 50 meters from the target. The target then closed to within 15 meters or so of the Probot, and they traded shots until the target was dead.

Using post-publish 19 droids, I haven't had any issues with my own or with customer units not hitting for good damage. I sell all my droids from 6 different vendors, and have had no problem with combat units losing their ability.

I have to admit that when I remove a droid from the crate to put on the vendor, I first split the crate, then remove the droid. Read about that on this forum at one point. But even the ones I forget to split and simply remove from a crate have functioned correctly. I simply haven't seen any of the problems seen by others.
