Thread: All droid schematics are single use only did I just make a big mistake?

Did I make a big mistake in respecing over from AS to DE. I discovered that all schematics for droids are one time use only. I can kind of understand it for the "advanced" version as that could be a "limited edition", but you can only produce a particular droid once and that's it? That reduces the profession to a maintenance one - making reconstruction kits, or batteries, etc.,. Why in heaven's name would you want a profession that only allows you to build something once (yeah, you can do a factory run, but how many people want to devote the time and resources to making 1000 droids of any one kind) - is this a bug? I hope it is a mistake, or I am going to be seriously annoyed at myself..
Ummmm......
Not sure what the heck you are talking about. DE schematics are not limited use, unless you made the mistake of picking up one off of a recruiter. Those are completely useless, since any DE can automatically gain access to the schematic when you 'level' up.

As Drashk suggested perhaps you are thinking of the looted / acquired schematics. These would be single use as in most lootable schematics. However, if you look at your skill tree (Ctrl S) and look at the Novice, Master and last column you are able to create those droid types when you have that skill and make as many as you choose with whatever modules you see fit.
Or perhaps you misunderstood what you are able to do with Droid Engineer. I make good sales making Astromech Droids (R Units) and Astromech Computers and the Bounty Hunter Droids are another regular income.
At the bottom of the description of any deed for a droid, it says: "This deed is for a custom crafted droid unit. To use this deed use the READY DROID UNIT option and your droid will be generated and the deed used up". Is this referring to the individual droids after they are created, or to the deed that you use to craft them in the first place?
Thanks
A droid in deed form is an inventory object. You can drop it, but it on a vendor etc. When you call the droid for the first time, or "Ready" it, it then becomes a data object. It now sits in your datapad and is no longer a deed, but actually a Droid Control Device.
In that sense the deed gets used up and is only a one-use item.
I suppose the way the text is phrased, it just leaves open the option for a multi-use deed, but I don't think we've ever seen one, or ever will.
