Thread: Totally stumped on R3 Adv, Droid crafting issue

I wanted to make a Level 6 storage compartment. I mean that. I couldn't find the extrusive ore I needed (Geez, and I used to complain about Shipwrights needing specific resources). I mean I could *find* the extrusive ore, only it was being sold for 99999999 credits. (A tad out of my price range )

So reading DE 101 I see that you can *stack* storage modules. Two Level 3 modules later and I think I'm ready to go. I started with an R2 Adv unit, and found out that I could put in the two storage units, *or* one storage unit and the Level 6 Data Storage module, but not all 3.

Hrm. Motto of the Paramedic: Adapt, Improvise, Overcome. So I crafted an Adv. R3 Chassis. I went to make the deed and none of the crafted modules would fit.

So, is this some kind of bug or am I doing something wrong?

You build the modules into a combat harness. And then the harnesses go into the droid. Also, here's a cool link which talks about module stacking...

You need to put your modules into combat clusters (each one takes 3 modules) THEN, you put the combat cluster into the droid. In this way, an R3 ADV can hold 6 modules.

BTW, don't quote me on this, but I -think- you need two level 4 storage modules for max storage.

If I'm reading that post correctly, I need to make TWO level 6 data modules and at least TWO level 5 storage modules to get 10-item storage and 150 units astromech storage? And then I have to build them in to a combat harness so they will all fit in?

No. If you want a droid with max data and item storage, but can't make lvl 6 storage, into one combat cluster, you put one lvl 6 data module and two lvl 4 item storage modules. That will max out your droid in both areas. In an R3 ADV, you can make up another cluster of any 3 modules you want and put that in as well, but that'd be optional.

And remember, astromechs use combat-capable clusters, not general clusters.
