My alt has started building bomb droids for my bh main. After weeks of waiting for tolium gas to spawn on my server, I finally got a chance to build some test units. the denonation power for the first series of units were about 39 using advanced mouse bots and the latest were at 47 with advanced r3 models.. field tests show that my mouse bots produced an explosive punch of around 1200-1600 pts of damage on any given target. I wasn't able to test a AR3 on my target because the droid ATTACKED the target and was hit and disabled instead of blowing up. So what are your suggestions of making a bomb droid that is powerful to hurt the target, yet isn't dumb enough to get itself disabled by attacking the target without order.

Try adding armor to the droid. That will up its health to 3.7k and give it about 60% resists (only for the first call, but you only need it for one).

I build my Bomb droids with lvl 6 armour modules - which is pretty much overkill as if you use the droid as a first strike weapon, then you get a "free hit" against your mark.
A very successful BH on my server has written a guide to taking down full template jedi and has some pointers on using bomb droids as a first strike weapon.
It's pretty much all in how you command the droid to blow up. if you /attack the target then yeah, it'll attack it, instaed of going kablooey. You need to use /tar *markname* and then tell the froid to follow then use the /detonate droid when you are close to being in range (the blast rarea is about 17m I think). There are some macro's listed in that post and in the replies to it to help out with the process.
Hope this helps

If you don't put a combat module in the droid, it won't attack. only put det modules and armor. 2 lvl 4 armor modules will stack and = same amount of armor as 2 lvl 5 or 2 lvl 6. The armor caps
