Thread: Real bad new bug Droid Healing

Guildmate of mine has a Probot Combat droid. It's actually one of mine (I made a bunch of freeby droids for guildmates).

It's maxxed out on Combat Modules, 2 Level 6 Armor modules (I always max it out, I hate seeing empty slots).

Whenever his droid takes any damage he is able to heal it with normal healing with Bacta Jab, Bacta Shot and Infusion. He can also buff it with any of the Doc buffs he has. He's tried storing and recalling it and can still do all that and even relogged. This was a droid he had "made ready" before today's patch.

This is just a nasty bug, considering I make Droid Stims (I have a run of 850 finishing up just now) about 2400 power and 40 uses and now with this bug this allows people to bypass it.

I'll be trying it out in a few minutes with another account myself, but he can easily reproduce it over and over again.

Really? Teach me for taking off for a month!

I think that's terrible. No wonder my Stims haven't been moving as fast as before.

Actually to input some thoughts on this. It's not bad.

I was doing some testing last night, trying to localize that dang Probot Damage bug. I make 2200+ Droid stims, my low level Bacta heals for about 400. So that in itself is a decent difference. Yet the Droid Stims don't take mind, which is good.

The main thing is that Droid stims don't draw Hate or Agro from what the droid is fighting. However, the second you use any Bacta on it, ouch. I'll say it again, ouch. They turn on you in a heartbeat.

With our current state of Combat droids, our biggest market for our droids are people that don't fight very well, they want the Droid to tank our outright kill the target. Droid Stims not pulling hate is a great selling point.

One could argue whether or not this is actually a bug. No word from the devs one way or another. From my perspective as a DE, it's really not that bad, in fact, I'd hate to see it "fixed". Why? Because although I have a vendor full of repair kits that aren't selling, and it's unlikely that anyone with medic skills would ever buy one, it really does make droids more attractive to medics. Seriously, a droid is an easy sell to them now:

fights at level 30, increases your heals by 25%+, will store 10 items for you, and they can heal it themselves when it gets hurt. Who *wouldn't* want one? It's a no-brainer sale, and they'll pay well to get one.

To me, medics/docs/cms are the easiest people to sell droids to. The only barrier at all is educating them on the droids usefulness.

Well, from past experience, it would be considered a bug, since droids it was remeded in the past. When Droids where hit by the blanket pet effect during the CU Beta, they were made healable by medical means. This blanker effect is still being seen with droids, since both BE crafted pets and DE crafted droids are hitting hard caps after they are called from the 'deed'.

I'll admit that I like this bugged feature, with my MCH/MBH/NCM, since it allows me to heal all of my pets at the same time, however I do think that it needs to be addressed, along with the Auto-Repair Modules.

As for Droid Sales....

Too long have droids suffered the bad rap. Its going to take a lot of encouragement on everyones part to make people realized how much of an asset droids are now, in combat. I was in the village the other day, with my above mentioned toon, during the Phase 4 attack. I had my 3 pets on one target, while I was targeting another sith, of the same level, and forgot about setting my droid to attack, since it is on a seperate command. The droid was hit by a AOE attack and aggro'd one of the Pirates. My little DZ-70 end up taking down 2 Pirates in the same amount of time thatit took me to I kill 4 and my 3 pets killed 3, without having to lend the droid a single shot. That is just on the PvE front.

When it comes to PvP, that extra 30+ points every 1.5 seconds makes a huge difference, when fighting someone with simialr skills. You might as well tack it on as an extra 30 DPS to the weapon that you are using, because that is simply what it is. Ina PvP fight, where every point of damage matters, having a droid there to assist with the kill is phenominal.Again, just trying to make more people realize their value.

I agree. Recently I've had a couple comments from guildmates saying that other than a couple of bugs they've run into with them they love the droids and are telling other people about the droids I sell as they can make abig difference in combat.

They've saved one of my toons from dying a few times now just because of the extra little damage output.

I've been able to heal my droid with bacta shot for a while now (since at least publish 19). As a customer, I thought I was it was kind of handy . But I can understand why you won't like that. In fact, I purposefully had an auto-repair module put in because I didn't want to have to heal him all the time.
