Hi,

I'm a novice DE, 0002. I have read the 101 doc and found it very helpful, but I have a few random questions.

First, I am playing on Flurry, but it seems like the economy may not exactly be booming. I have another character on Intrepid (Master Marksman) and I have a general feeling that the bazaar there is busier.

Would people recommend any galaxies over others for a DE? I am in the US, on the West Coast.

Does anyone know of any player cities on Flurry that might like a DE as an addition?

Are there any race specific bonueses that apply to DE? I am Mon Calamari, but I am not so crazy about doing weapons or architect. I guess the human artisan bonus is specific to that tree, and not to all crafting?

If you think any of these questions are not appropriate for this forum, feel free to ignore them I am pretty new here.

Any server will work. The only difference is that on a higher population server, there's a better chance of more DE's to help train/school you on the craft or to put you out of business.

I'd recommend posting on the Flurry forums for this. There's always cities recruiting and I believe DE is one of the less frequently done crafting professions. So many cities may be willing to take in an aspiring Droid Engineer.

There aren't any experimentation bonus except the human/artisan one. The others affect assembly. So race doesn't really affect it any. Just make sure you have a good tool/station/research center city and you'll be fine. For role-play purposes, I hear Wookiee's make the best DE's.

Thank you Traie. I will keep an eye out for a city, but it's not a hurry. I built a house west of Mos Eisley and have a vendor there, but it is not a very populated area and the vendor is not on the map.

I'm glad to hear that there are no bonuses I'm missing. I may actually pick up some weapons later, I do get a bonus there.

I think DE will be fun when I can get past the grinding more and build some stuff. I made 0003 today, and I had my first request from someone that I could actually fill (a v3 flight computer).

That's exactly why I chose a wookiee skin. I asked myself while I was creating my character, "Self, who did I see actually work on a droid in the movies?" Myself answered, "Aside from that overacting little brat in EP1? That would be Chewie!"

Yeah, I have the vendor search on. And yes, it was good to sell something, anything I had actually sold a couple of v1 flight computers through the bazaar. Someone had requested a v3 which I couldn't do at the time, but I got back to him and he still wanted it. It was cool to be able to fill an actual request

I had a request for a combat droid, too, but I still need to do a lot of grinding before I can do a decent job at that.
