Ello folks...

I just hit Master DE (first on europe-farstar as far as I'm aware) on Tuesday and need a little help.

1) I've read that recourses quality (ie. toughness, OQ, etc) do NOT affect droids - is this correct?

2) Can protocol droids (or any droids) be programmed to walk around town or stay at starports and bark out messages now and again - ie. advertisicing player cities/shops?

Cheers in advance!

Resource quality has not affected the finished product very much in the past. But we just got all our experimentation points with the last monthly update, so perhaps they do now or will in the near future.

The other thing you have to consider is the possibility that whatever ratings these resource qualities do affect could change when fixes go live as they did with harvesters. But this does not always happen. It depends on how the ratings are calculated and how they were stored with the finished product.

I would hate for things to suddenly change, as they did with harvesters, and then have customers come back to me screaming that I ripped them off and demanding refunds or replacements with adequate ratings. Especially when I could have avoided getting a bad rep by doing the 'right thing' in the first place.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

No they dont advertise. They can be programmed to patrol, but that is all they do, just walk around.

And you currently cannot even rename a protocol in order to provide some measure of publicity.

Stick with a probot, an astromech, or a BLL for advertising patrols.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

1) I believe that component quality affects the probability of a failure when using the component in crafting. If I experiment on all my components, it seems I rarely fail while crafting the final product. If I don't, the failure rate seems to be noticeably higher.

2) Some people believe that the quality of the crafting stations affects their performance. People will come up to me and ask me to make a droid with the highest quality crafting station I can make. So it's important to keep some quality material around for this, if for no other reason.

3) The Droid Customization Tool is definitely improved when using quality material and experimentation.
