Professions, professions. So many professions in SWG. Since I got a kick out of the Star Wars is SWG post I figured i'd start a new one that's kind of an offshoot of it looking at the various characters' professions. Well here’s what I think Lukes profession would look like if he was in SWG. Feel free to add on anything about Luke or a different character.

Luke
Episode 4

  • Originally had master farm boy, master pilot, some survey skills to search for water on Tatooine, had engineering 4 cause needs it to be a droid engineer, had some rifles experience and some pistols and carbine experience, and had some experience as a two handed brawler cause he had some lightsaber skills.

  • Unlocked force sensitive when he attained Master Droid Engineer from fixing R2 and discovering the message for Obi-Wan.

  • Obi-Wan invited him to join his group so Luke wouldn’t have to pay 10,000 credits to be taught jedi skills.

  • Has no medic skills at all but showed some love to his aunty who is a master chef.

Episode 5

  • Dropped master farm boy to further develop jedi skills.

  • Also unlearned some droid engineer skills, surveying skills (no need to survey for water especially on Hoth/Dahgobah), and piloting skills (as evidenced by him crash landing twice in one movie).

  • Picked up scout so he could be a squad leader (he was Rogue Leader).

  • Mastered brawler and rifleman so he could be a commando and take down AT-AT.

  • Still has no medic skills cause he couldn’t heal his own wounds.

  • Note to all SWG players: Notice that R2 had to be charged at least once during the movie. Show your local droid engineer some love by doing the same thing and buying some droids from him/her and some droid batteries.

Episode 6

  • Dropped all farming skills and survey skills to become a jedi knight.

  • Possibly dropped droid engineering completely but we don’t know that for sure cause who fixed R2 after R2 got shot?

  • Relearned some pilot skills from fellow Phat Wookie Chewie cause he didn’t crash in this movie and was able to pilot Imp Shuttle to escape from Death Star.

Episode 7?

  • I don’t read the novels so you tell me. I think it’s safe to assume that he’s at least master jedi which means he can die a max of 3 times before he needs to recreate his character.

I wrote this up a while back and posted it... enjoy

Luke and Obiwan stood before the Cantina. Puzzled, Luke asked, "What are we doing here?"

Obiwan replied, "Well, young Luke, do you remember that I said that I would teach you the ways of the force?"

"Yes," said Luke.

Obiwan looked slightly sheepish as he replied, "Well, first you are going to have to do a bit of dancing here."

"What?" exclaimed Luke. "You said this was a pit of scum and villany! I've seen the types going through that door!"

Obiwan sighed. He had feared this moment. "Well, do not feel too badly. The way of the Jedi first starts with the slaughter of elite imperial troopers, but as I have the wisdom of the Jedi, you are spared that trial. I'll just **edit** on down to the tailor's and pick up something more... suitable... for you to wear. And a club. You'll want that."

"What will I need a club for?" asked Luke.

"You did see the sorts going in and out of this Cantina," said Obiwan.

Luke looked doutful and suspicions. "What else didn't you tell me?"

"Well, I hope you don't mind the sight of blood, becuase after you dance for a few weeks, you'll be spending some time learning the art of medicine." Suddenly, Obiwan's face lit into a smile. "But at least you still hold title to your departed Uncles vaporators. Beleive me, you'll need them."

The doubt and suspician on Luke's face began to slowly turn to anger. "I thought we were going to do glorious things, and help the Princess in her hour of need?"

"Oh, don't worry, there is no real urgency. All the private starships in the galaxy are grounded by order of the Emperor for at least four more months, so there is no real rush."

"And what else didn't you tell me?" growled Luke.

"Well, once you have learned medicine, you will then learn the art of scouting. But don't worry, you will get to do a lot of camping and fishing. Very recreational, fishing."

"Fishing?" exclaimed Luke. "Have you looked around? Hello, Mister Jedi Master, did you notice the climate on this planet? The climate that forces people to mostly live under the ground?"

"So it may take a bit of time... I am sure there has got to be a nice pond somewhere around here," mumbled Obiwan.

"Lets say that I do these things. Then will teach me the art of the force?" said Luke.

"Well, no, not immediately," said Obiwan. "There is one more step before I can do that. You will have to relearn your droid skills. I fear that you will be so out of practice by then that you will have forgotten them all. Don't worry, I know a great supplier of steel and... hey, wait? Where are you going?"

"Screw this, screw the force, and screw you. I'm joining the empire!"

Don't forget Han practically jumped for joy after Obi-Wan told him they'd pay him 17,000 credits for the trip to Alderaan. Heh, he must have been dirt broke.

(I think it was 17,000...)

Oh, you want some really far out science fiction? How about this?

It was patch day, and all the Sketh waited breathlessly for the servers to come up. The devs had promised a number of fixes to droids, and Sketh had complete faith that they would be included in the patch.

Finally, Chilastra came on line. Sketh immediately logged on, and his toon poped in his shop where he had logged 5 minutes before the servers went down the previous night. Immediately, his vendor greeted him with the personalized message that Sketh had entered in 2 weeks previously.

Breathlessly, Sketh checked his schematic list. Sure enough, there they were: the assasin droid, the droideka, the improved probot, and a working DZ70, and the 6 new types of utility functions.

I could go on, buy you get the point...
