Ok, one star me ok?

I am a 3 day holo DE... ok stop reading me and one star me now... for the rest of you.

I got master pikeman as first holo. They are the DE's of the combat classes, completely gimped compaired to anyone else. I went to their boards, many helpfull and nice people. I do my research, heck I didnt post here til I was an hour or so from master! I didnt ask any silly questions. I pointed out I know nothing about the class, just how to grind it up.

Yet I get one starred to oblivion. How silly is that. Then I read the boards and see what most posts are like and people either hate being DE's or hate everyone in the world or hate SOE.

Enjoy the game, if you dont enjoy your class get a new one. I dropped Master pikeman in about 20 min of mastering. I will keep droid a little longer just to tinker with it (i have a master artisan friend who can help me out with components).

This board needs to cheer up some.

Alot of people here , including myself , had dreams of being a DE when they picked up the box.

Then they started in on thier chosen profession , saw some odd things , and checked in here to talk to other fellow DE's

Then the black-hole of compassion sank in , and as other clases got hot-fixes , and improvements , our class was 'talked about' in secret hidden circles , where agreed upon , if any information was leaked to the general public , the world would implode.

We're not all bad (DE's that is) , some people have dreams of what this class should be , others talk about redesigning the game around the DE class , some hate DE's but stick with it with hope of instant improvements , while others like myself don't come to this board all that often because the ranting and lack of offical replies gets you down .

Filter out the bad posts , and keep asking any questions that you might have , I'll try my best to answer them , as well as a few other decent people on the board.

In what I believe to be an immature act, our corrospondant called out to all DEs to 1-star all holocron DEs.

You know what part of the root of the problem?

The new holoDE's posting here cause the thought, concious or not, that DE's are currently nothing but a stepping stone on the road to a FSCS, and will remain that way for 3-4 more months.

You make us see just how useless the class is even more - it isn't you per se that most are mad about (though, people talking about dropping our class like used toilet paper doesn't help).

You said that you were on the pikemen forum, called it the DE's of the combat class. Well, you still can do non-ranged combat and not be a pikeman. You can craft other things and not be a DE, true, but we are talking DROIDS here. The heart of what defines SW. So, yes, the attitudes here will be a bit different.

One other thing that you have to keep in mind is this. DE's have since Beta 3 have been treated like red headed stepchildren (not disrespect to red headed stepchildren). When we politely asked to be treated like every other class and get some love we get the standard, We are working on that.

Then those .... holocroms come out and then people who have little to no concern in DE come to this board and say, how can I get through DE fast enought to get on with what I really want to do? Most Holo DE's will drop DE like it was the plague and a very few might keep some skills, but the majority of the DE's that are left to this forum are hold outs praying for some light at the end of the tunnel.

Heck my DE is a sideline character while I use a CH/Smuggler character for fun and destruction. The short answer to why the hostility is: Because we are sick of getting rained on. There are instructions stickied to the top of this forum long before Sin sticked one there. Everyone that did a little investigation saw this, but too many people want the "magic" short cut to get through and after answering this 10 to 20 times a day it gets really old. After the 50 or 60th time it get insulting and you snap at the next person who asks it.

Take it for what it is worth. Do the boring grind like all of us have. Get the steel and fiberplast, forget selling anything and blame SOE for losing you the millions of credits you had to pay in upkeep fees or for buying the materials.

when you are on the holocron trail EVERY CLASS is a stepping stone. When I am done with my holo's I will pick a new direction. The holo's I do help me see more of the game (only good thing about them) so I will have a better Idea of what I want.

Some people pick up CH just so that they can level up BH or commando fast, does not bother me in the least (a lot of ch's are anti-dabblers but I dont have any big anger about that).

Thank you all for thoughtfull posts fyi.

Maybe it just depends on the type of people. Droid Engineers are, typically, people with high hopes and shattered dreams. A lot of us are *really* really bitter, and that's a result of the treatment we've gotten since Beta. The Holcron thing is mostly a combination of little things that just tork us off...

1) Most of us hate Holocrons. We generally think that it's a silly, dumb way to do Jedi and it totally tarnishes everything that Jedi was supposed to represent.

2) We hate repeating ourselves. The answer on how to grind through the profession has been answered over and over. Eventually people snap.

3)We hate being mocked by SOE. It seems like everything they do regarding us is a slap in the face to our real, consistent problems and even some other things they do are just as terrible (IE, nerfing our probot and then giving everyone CL15 pets. And then mounts for Creature Handlers so they can sell them for 50-100k or more). Many of us are on-edge, and it's the poor Holocroner that is gonna feel our wrath. Maybe they deserve it for not being able to find the answers themselves in the multitude of threads....likely a lot of them don't deserve it. But I do see that a lot of our opinions can be summed up like this:

"If you're doing DE for the sake of being a DE, then we welcome you. We hope you become a productive member of our community and help us in understanding our profession and working to make it better. Or at least adaquate. If you're doing DE simply so you can grind up fast, dump it, and then move on in your Jedi hunt, then we wish you well but also wish you to move along. Here is the information you need to grind wildly. Good luck."
