Droid Engineer Archive

I have been reading up on the changes that came our way with Pub18 and am more than a little confused. I really dont make many droids these days with the way they were nerfed with the CU (infact all I have on my vendors are BH droids, flight computers and some astromechs). I was wondering how these changes affect droids crafted after pub18? Are these any good or not? I would imagine that having only a CL30 then they are still pretty much useless in combat. A CL30 droid will pretty much be killed in just a hit or two from most mobs out there. I am seriously thinking of using the respec to move to another profession but would like to see if there is any hope for DE's before making the descision. I have been a DE since just before the droid revamp although I did leave the game for about a year. I hate the thought of leaving DE but with the things that have happened to us lately I really dont see a point to stay.
