Thread: Bomb Droids working ?

I've finally started making some (after paying 100cpu for some junk quality tolium gas) but they dont seem to sell very well. I think Ive had 3 sales since I posted my first ones 2 weeks ago.
My prices dont seem out of line for the costs involved, 10k per MSE droid with detonation 36. Crates of 5 for 50k. I have about 75 singles and 10 crates and so far have only sold 3 singles.
I can only guess that these arent working ? My vendors are always busy otherwise with seekers flying out the door.

They do work, but not to their full extend due to elemental damage missing.
Dont know the current damage numbers for them.
But whatever damage they do, almost every jedi has now healer in his template and can heal the damage away in a few sec., so i guess they arent that usefull as they where pre-CU

They seem to be 20 to 50 times the rating. Plus the missing 10% extra elemental.

They are worth it. It's all abotu timing, the droid wont kill somebody by themselves, however, if you time a powerful first strike to hit at the same time as the droid it can really make a difference. A knockdown is good too

I made up a bunch of bomb droids when I first got Master DE, because a friend of mine had a BH character andsome Tolium Gas. But when I first put them up on my vendor sales for them were very slow. Some BH's asked me if I could make more powerful ones, so I did (power 57 Adv R3). After I gave one to a Master Smuggler friend and one to a Master BH friend, sales increased. Keep in mind they are probably the most well known Smuggler and BH on the server. Word spread around and now I can barely keep the 57's in stock.
Also another little trick I use to do, but not as effective now. I painted the Adv R3's green to look more like the helper droids. BH's would hire someone to carry a CDEF, wear Starting Clothes and have the droid follow them and detonate it next to the Jedi.

Very sneaky trick...lol. I like that. Do they still have the green droids for newbies, or has that changed with the CU?
Are BHs the only class that can use the Bomb Droid? How much damage does a normal 57 droid do? Also, when you detonate it, does it damage everyone around it or just the player you have targeted?

1) Bounty Hunters and Smugglers can use bomb droids
2) A 57-rated droid will do approximately 2000 kinetic damage PvE with 30% reduction in PvP. Actual damage varies...we don't have a confirmed formula yet.
3) It is a blast radius, so the targets gets full, and radial (lesser) damage applies to surrounding baddies.

It seems to be about 20-50 points of damage per detonation point.

hmm. i cant get mine to even put a scratch on a Meatlump. Perhaps I should try again. Becaause they seemed 100% borked (no dmg to NPCs) but that was a couple of weeks ago. I will be very happy if I'm wrong.
Ahh! Perhaps the ones bought PRE-CU are borked now and you must buy new ones and those might work? The ones I have now are from like 6 months ago.. Ahhh if I get my bommb droid tactics down again I'm going to be one stoked and broke (no-$$$) smug..
