Thread: How Do I Grind To Master Droid Engineer?

Just popped into to say hello to my old DE community. I'm back IG after a welcome RL respite and I see that SWG is much improved. The CU really makes combat enjoyable. Lots of other great changes too like new loot and content and restructuring of some professions (Doc crafting now in BE tree, for example).


Sadly,I see that my beloved DE profession and its wayward children known as droids are very much neglected. Probots are bugged with slower attack speeds and ranged toggled off, combat droids have bugged armor, bomb droids lack elemental damageand a simplistic crafting system, so-called "utility droids" have no real market. Medical droids and entertainer droids once seemed hot, but with buffs de-emphasised and cantinas empty, I hardly see ANY droids anywhere in the game any more. We finally had droid stims for a while, now they're borked and we're spraying Bacta on metal. Very sad.


With a market like this, it is easy to assert that DE is the most useless of all professions. At least Tailors make people look good and boost stats. My sympathies go out to you all.


To make this post constructive, I'll say one can only hope that once the devs finish tweaking BH v. Jedi, they'll clean up the droid code and bring realy combat droids and crafting into the game via droid handler or whatever they need to to to make it happen. (On that note, the fact that a grouped combat droid's effectiveness is tied to the level of its master strikes me as 'free checkers." Thought that was a big, no-no.)

Just an FYI, if you missed the little tid bit of information. It sounds like RThorton will be fiddling with the Droid code again, over the next few publishes. So, there is hope that most of the newest issues will be taken care of and we may even see some older issues fixed. At least we can hope.

Great to see some of the old personalities of this forum. Though I have to say, as an occasional lurker on this board, it strikes me that even some of the DE stalwarts are feeling the effects of long neglect by the Devs.


There's so much potential in the profession and in droids. I have my fingers cross for my DE brothers and sisters.
