Hello, I'm on my way to an Artisan and I was going towards Droid Engineer until I read about a lot of bugs and just a lack of real "Droid" feel to them.
So now I'm left wondering: What is the Artisan profession that one could be the most creative with; thinking of new ideas (regardless if they'll sell or not) and making them. See, I first chose droid engineer because I had all these zany new droid (not new per say , but just a clever spin on droid making) ideas that I felt would revolutionize the industry!
For example, I thought it would be fun to design a protocol droid with a self destruct (bomb) module, called the Fodder 500. I was planning to use the pitch of "Tired of losing men on the field of battle? Then get the Fodder 500, a master of sacrifices!"
This dream was smashed to bits when I heard that only smugglers and bounty hunters could use bomb droids
And that I would no longer be able to use them myself or use that sales pitch on Imperial and Rebel commanders....
So anyways, Back to my original question: Which artisan profession allows for the most creativity with new ideas?

only things i can think of is DE and Bio enginner. but were both getting nerf batted to death. Bio's getting hit harderthanDE's though.

If you dont mind manaul crafting shipwright is fun, I just do custom jobs, but you can make alot with a vendor. if we had a screen like Image Designer so we could see our clients ships it would be great but we dont so they have to communicate to us about their ship- the better they do that the better we can improve it. It probably has the most customizable options/variations of crafting profs. plus building your own ships is always fun.

There is NO crafting profession as fun as Droid Engineering.
It started out slow and painful, but with 2 and 1/2 patches dedicated to droids, we're now the "bestest" ever and will continue to improve.
You get to make all the parts, all the accessories, and even allthe final droids yourself... all toyour customers exacting specifications. (even color choices!)
If you're looking for a "crate-grinding-factory-churning-vendor-stuffing" profession, then perhaps something other than DE is for you. (although some have followed that boring path with even our awesome profession)
Other crafters make "things" for your character to use, but nobody else makes in-game companions as useful and customized as a droid.
Am I biased about this? 110%! But then again, I got into SWG to MAKE DROIDS, so what else is there....

Architect is looking more and more appealing everyday, but not really for the crafting side....for the interior decorating. There's some awesome stuff you can do inside of SWG houses. I might start doing that as a sideline once I've got DE down, 'cause it looks like fun. People are creating macros and using everyday items to create some magnificent designs (fireplaces, aquariums, chandeliers, etc.). I just discovered the Home Show on the Galaxies main page, but I'm hooked now.

To me the best opportunities left (and they are dropping fast) to express creativity through crafting are tailoring and interior decorating (best accomplished through architect). Both offer pretty much unlimited possibilities and the ability to create things that nobody else has thought of before.
While I really like DE, DE really does not have that. There is asmall and finitenumber of viable droid/module combinations that you can actually make, and the ability to customize the appearance of droids is almost non-existant.
