Because they (and I paraphrase a recent dev post): 'Changed the data structure of waypoints'.
Basically, they changed some of the information associated with waypoints, and this change was not accounted for in droid datapads.
This is quite possibly tied to the mission nerf, although that's not a 100% guarantee.

Was this taken out because of the mission/droid datapad thing? or were they ever there to start?
I was hoping to sell mouse data droids with waypoints to local points of interest
