Thread: Planting Harvs is impossible now.

Ok seriously, I'm trying to be upbeat. I actually have been having some fun on my combat toons, but my DE is just sucking.


There are way way to many wild spawns. I mean way to many. You just can't find an open spot.


I have friends, I have alt accounts, but even easy lairs can be to much for a single level 80 toon. Harder ones tkae a group of 8.


Now get this, I fonud a good spot for a resource, I called friends, there were 3 lairs that needed cleared. The killed one, then moved to the other, while they were killing that one, another lair spawned. For over an hour they tried to clear the area before we gave up.


It's ridiculous.

I feel your pain. I got incapped in two hits by a tabage while checking my factories. Having a combat rating 10 bites.

I can honestly deal with being stuck as a level 1 and not being able to kill anything myself. The problem is that all along the standerd answer to our complaints has been "get friends" to help, use a droid.


That sounds really great, but what they really mean to say is get a BUNCH of friends, make sure you have some melee, a healer, some damage dealers, and maybe a CH. All to help you visit your harvestors or plant some.


I honestly don't know what the answer is, this may be their version of a cure for being able to mine millions of resources, just make it impossible to plant them.

I really don't see what you or other crafters are seeing. I'm a CU fanboy admittedly and more so every day but I've also got 20 harvesters spread out across the galaxy and my ability to manage them hasn't changed. I just set down on some nice gas on Dath and Endoryesterday and while I got incapped once, all in all it wasn't really any different than before. I'm very careful and I've learned how and where to maneuver and where to stop and how close I can get before I get aggro.


The only thing that's different is that I may have to sometimes take an 85% density spot as opposed to a 90% density spot if it's too risky.

As sad as it is to say - it is getting harder and harder to find someone to cover me when I try to get to my harvesters and factories.


Our guild has somewhere around 90 members - and on any given Saturday night there are usually 30+ people online. So getting coverage was a piece of cake.


Not last night - there was like 5 people online - and this morning I was the only person on for several hours.


I guess the upside to all of this is I dont have to worry about getting to my harvesters and factories as there is no one really online to buy what I have to sell anyway.


I hate seeing good friend and 14+ months of relationships lost due to the CU - which I have named: Droids Relost!

I have been having the same problem placing miners & dieing! The 1st day the combat downgrade was in place my calimari & wookie crafters both died in seconds after being knocked off their bikes. I do have a partial answer to the death problem, I have my factories inside the city so me & fellow guildies are protected. But the placing miners & maintaining them is still a problem! I dont have a solution for the mining delima , so I am hoping some one finds a way around it soon. If the devs dont help us crafting may become impossible! It isnt possible to constantly round up security for mining activities. I didnt have to do it before so why should we have to now !

Maybe it is different on your server, something with spawns or you have more people out killing spawns.


On Scylla, the planets are literally CARPTED with wild spawns, especially planets like Dant and Endor, I havn't even set foot on Dath. It's not even a matter of dying, its more that you just can't find an empty spot.

I really am curious as to why they can't chance the new CU 'combat level' to 'character level' instead. Make it so that we all get the benefits of increased health as well as a higher level so that the level based damage system doesn't destroy us in two shots. We would have those two things but we still wouldn't have real offense or defense capabilities.

I agree. With most people getting missions now due to many wild spawns being too low level to benefit in XP, I dont see the need for as many wild spawns. I think that cutting them in half at *least* would be wise. It would also likely help with travel issues (getting DB while riding around) and World Lag too.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

Heh... I have just had to train the entire survey tree on my ALT-toon... a TKM.


Fortunately, I had enough SP left such that I was able to do this. This is now the ONLY method I have of locating a promising site and placing harvesters.


Prior to the CURB (may it rot in whichever of the nine Hells are appropriate), I was at least able to use my MDE/MMerch/MArtisan to locate, via high-speed flying survey, suitable spots for harvesters... harvesters which were then planted by my TKM. Now, after CURB implementation, even that task is too difficult to accomplish.. I keep getting my MDE's... umm... "assets"... shot off of the bike.


Sad... very, very sad... that I am now forced to retain an extra accountfor this sole purpose...

Should Sony and Lucas Arts be worried? (15000 users * 5 accts = ~$13MIL in potential lost gross annual revenue) If I were the CEO for either LA or SOE, I would certainly be worried.

I was on Dathomir yesterday (Sunday after CU). I made a run to the Village, I grouped with some CL 80 characters and just made the run on my own. I was hit 2 or 3 times and only for 16 points or so. There are good points and bad points to the CUrrent system.

I don't know in the end how hard it will be to find a group, but for now I just shuttled in and I had an invite.

I hear you 100% on this, im currently trapped in my home by a single cl12 spineflap.Iit hits me for 450 dmg so im done in three hits, stand up and done again. Im effectively homebound now. I do not want to kill things with my crafter but surviving 30 sec would be nice.

BAH!


I placed 10 harvestors bewteen my two level 1 crafters this morning. On Dant and on Cor.


You just have to use the overhead map and be careful... AND you sometimes have to settle for places that are not the best % pocket for what you are surveying.


I had to give up an 85% pocket for a 70% pocket because there were nasties on the nice spot.



It's all part of learning a different way of doing things.
