That all depends on what you want to do with this profession. Most of thepeople who are angry about this profession have been waiting sinse release for this profession to get the fixes and upgrades it so deserves.
In theory, DEs are going to be more exciting to play.... eh... some day *shrug*.
cheers...

like ellewen says, it all depends on what you want out of it. There are a good number of us who love the profession, and there are a good number who are ready to drop it. DE has more uniqueness to it than any of the other crafting professions (with the exception of tailor) but it also has lower sales than most others (not that you can't make a good living off of it, it just won't make you 10million credits a week).

It makes a difference for some modules but not others. Primarily only stimpack modules, repair kits, trapping modules, and survey droids make real use of more than 10 exp points.

What Jenden said
Just a little info:
All those mentioned Modules can't really considered Hot Sellers or Money Maker
(Maybe the repair kits, never bothered with them^^)

Be sure to check out the section on Experimentation, in the DE 101 FAQ as well. It goes over each and every crafted component and lists where experimentation matters and where it doesn't.

I have a Probot, 3500 HAM, 20% armor. He is capable of firing blasts of 92 dps.
Now, what I want to do is to have him upgraded. What are my options here. I want him armored to the hilt, and more powerful weapon, if possible.
I am on the Corbantis server.

Can't upgrade built droids. To "upgrade" You'd have to get a compleate new one
20% is max armor.
Damage seems somewhat low however.

Not to mention the HAM is a bit high.
Max HAM for a probot is 3200...or, at least it was...
Also, there is no "armor" for droids anymore, per se. They used to be able to be fitted with medium armor rating and 20% resists, but that got nerfed down to just the resists. Now with the CU, they don't even have the resists anymore.

Ok, so he is built about as tough as he gets. What are my options as far as firepower. Do I still have to build a completely new one?

Generally, a well-built probot will deal approximately 150-180 damage per hit at a pretty fast rate (like one shot every .75 seconds). But again, droids can't be upgraded, period.
