Hey everyone, totally enjoying this complex crafter profession. However, stuck on a few things.

What droid do I use for detonation modules ? Also, do I put those det modules in combat cluster thingies and then inside a droid ? I built one mse droid with a detonation module power 30 and tried to test it. I didnt see any blow command or attack, etc to get it to blow up.

What droid do I make for entertainer profession ? I made all 6 effects and placed them in two different clusters, combat and general one cause I couldnt find a way to get them both in various droids. Im guessing it should work with the R3 advanced model but I didnt see how to get all 6 (or 2 clusters with 3 inside each) to fit in it.

Finally, best droid for combat ? I made a few and so far think my best one was a probot advanced. It came out with combat rating of 348. Strange thing though is that my other one came out with combat rating of 148 so one would assume damage, etc would be twice as good. It wasnt, my probot was only slightly better with like 40-190 damage (other was 39-139). Also do armor modules really make much difference ? I dont have composite segments so used armor lvl 4 and cant see any way to guage its effectiveness.

Thanks for any help, most appreciated.

Welcome to the world of electronics... Where things work and sometimes doesn't.

In regards to the Detonation droids... They can only be operated (detonated) by Bounty Hunters and Smugglers. The best frames to use is the MSE (Adv) with max of 40DP, and the R3 (Adv) with a max of 60DP. The R3 will be more expensive ... You can make a nice profit with the MSE overall, impo.

Right now, if I remember reading correctly, the Detonation modules are broken, or glitched. Look in the threads...

As for the Entertainer, I use R3s for mine... Which require Combat Clusters. When you build the Droid, it should tell you, whether it will require general cluster or combat capable cluster.

As for the best droid for combat... My main choice/preference is the Arakyd Probot. Its main function, inheritly, is to be a combat droid... Adding combat cluster combat modules just makes it more effective. A secondary choice most folks like, is the R3 (or R2) ... Not as damaging, but has higher HAM... Matter of preference... Combat module stacks... To be effective, make it all combat modules.

Now, as an alternative, you can put in the probot 5 auto-repair modules thus it will be a self-healing tank. The other alternative is the R3 with 5 Auto-repair with 1 combat. Pre-Cu, this R3 would steal more exp from you, but still be a good tank.

As for the armour, I think they took away the droid's armour as well again...

Hope that helped some...

The Droid 101 thread at the top can answer pretty much all of these.

Let me know if you hacve any questions after that.

Jenden mentioned that the devs inadvertantly broke droid armor, and they suggested that they were going to fix it. The health bar on new droids is also borked. I'd hold off on making big combat droids runs until all this gets smoothed out. Just my suggestion.

R3's and MSE droids. The R3's can hold 2 combat clusters hence getting the most power, and the MSE have a bonus of +10 to detonation power. Only Bh;s and smugglers can use these little guys.

I usually only make entertainer droids on request, but when i did make them i made the R3's with all effect mods in them.

I dont have composite segments so used armor lvl 4 and cant see any way to guage its effectiveness. I make Probots and I think they make better combat droids. They seem to deal dmg faster and are ranged attackers. Also, the R3's tend to run sometimes while the probots have a innate combat ability. Just go to a AS and have him make you some composite segemnts schems. I only use Lvl 6 droid armor. Quality of resources does not matter and you only need one t oget the max effect rating whih is 20% any how.

Thanks for any help, most appreciated.

Armor is currently broke. Even though you may have a crate of "composite armor segments", when you get an item from the crate, they ar not composite armor segments any more (I forget what they are called now) and can't be used in the lvl 5 or 6 armor modules. Make level 4 armor and put two modules in your probots or r3 combat droids/tanks...

Armor isn't fully broken. Only Level 5 and 6 armor is unavailable as it uses the pre-cu composite armor segment. Levels 1 to 4 don't use these. So you should be able to run off a stack of Level 4 armor for your droids.

I noticed also that the droids HAMs were weird but in my droids the Health bar was normal and the Action and Mind were 0. The droids however function fine (well not had any complaints yet and one of my chars has been using a post cu droid in combat with no problems so far. I suspect these 0 values were supposed to be the equivalent to our %age values for Action and Mind so maybe supposed to be this way ..

Lets see now .. my Combat Droids are varied so buyers have a choice but my Probot Advanced is outselling my R3 Advanced 2 to 1. Probot Advanced allows 5 modules which average a combat rating of around 540+ depending on the state of your individual combat modules. An R3 Advanced allows 6 modules but maximum combat rating seems to be 600. Just added a set of R2 Advanced Combat droids which have the same module units as the probot and thus a similar if not same rating but has a higher HAM value. Buyers can then choose the showy probot or the HAM hyped R2 unit ::laughs::

With the new upgrade it seems combat droids may well be required more especially for non combatants needing guarding while on harvester check runs. I should know .. all my crafters have a guarding droid ::laughs::

Keep in mind that the math to calculate damage dealing capability is different from the astromechs and the probots. Your probots with 540+ CR do more damage and at a quicker rate than your R3s with 600 CR. Informed customers usually pick the probot because of that.
