Thread: Questions from a potential customer

Hey everybody,

My main question is this: Do droids work yet?

I am considering getting a custom-made Advanced Surgical Droid that can help my Doctor friendheal. I'm told that it should have Level 6 Medical and Food/Chem slots. I'd also like to give it a Geeky Personality Chip, because that's right up the Doctor's alley. Whatever other bells and whistles are out there, I'd be glad to add.

If these components aren't functional yet, I don't have any problem waiting for droids to get fixed. But if everything is working asit should on this type of droid, then I'll go ahead and start shopping around. Please let me know if the coast is clear.

A second question: Can you have an animated droid (ie, one that shifts around a bit) if it's just in chassis form?

I'm interested in getting a few cheap droids to decorate a bar I help run. I like dynamic additions to the bar (we've got a dewback in there and a few torches, along with a few NPC vendors. I like the idea of livening the place up with "animated decor" like those.). So do droids have to be fully complete to move around? Do chassis just stand there frozen?

Thanks for the unput, and if you're a Starsider Droid Engineer, feel free to contact me via forum PMsabout what I posted about - an Advanced Surgical Droid and some decoratives droids or chassis.

Thanks!

Yes, any droid with a medical 6 module will function to help a Doctor, it doesn't have to be a Surgical Droid. A lot of medics like the Surgical droid chassis though. The Food/Chem Droid Crafting Module works great, as long as it's the only crafting module in the design of the droid. An Advanced Surgical Droid will NOT heal a player for you, it simply augments a PC Medic's medical skills, and allows them to treat wounds outside of a medical center/camp.

Droid Chassis do more around a bit. If you've ever been in a Droid Engineer's shop, you've likely seen some on display, and they wiggle & beep and are animated in general. They remain in the same spot you drop them, they do not wander around, for that, you'd need a functional droid, set on patrol mode, and it would only be around while you're logged in.

I also happen to be a Droid Engineer on Starsider, and would be happy to craft an order for you. I'm 1 skill-block shy of Master Droid Engineer, so I cannot, at this time, craft Medical 6 modules, I'm capped at medical5 (which I've gotten to have a Medical Rating of 100 by using quality resources). If you really need a medical 6 module, I suggest you seek out a Master Droid Engineer for it, but I'll make you one with Medical 5, and also the chassis you want for your home/shop if you want to do business with me.

Send me an in-game email to Shadowfox if you have any further questions (Starsider).
