Thread: Combat Droid Market

After reading many posts from fellow DEs about ideas for combat droids, there is one thing that I haven’t seen mention of or perhaps I missed it in the mass of posts. Here are my thoughts…

Lets assume we do get more combat droids (someday). For this debate, lets also assume we get 3 different models. In order to keep variety in the market, each combat droid will need to be unique and still useful. Otherwise we will end up with one combat droid that sells and 2 that collect dust, as the DZ70 does now. In other words, no one is going to buy anything but the best, I wouldn’t.

We will need variance…

Here are a few Ideas:

-Perhaps one combat droid could have a huge HAM but does less attack damage. While another, has less HAM and does large amounts of damage.

-Maybe one of our combat droids could have AE weapons, while another has long range weapons or DOT weapons.

What ever the variables may be, we will need combat droids that are all marketable. By giving our customers more options and adding visual enjoyment, we will not just see one combat droid model everywhere we look. This will also add a new dynamic to combat as our customers develop new tactics using different combat droids in different situations.

These are my thoughts. I leave the combat droid variance debate to the DE community….

DE need multiple droids with different HAM,damage and damage types.

That goes without saying

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."
