Ok, so I was waiting for a customer to show up at my shop and got a little bored, so I decided to take a peek inside my Advanced R2 unit. So I went prone and snuck up on him from behind and again from in front. I saw some pretty interesting stuff in there! I am sure I'm not the first person to find this stuff, but I've never seen it posted here before.

Not only was his retractable foot in there (which I expected to see), but I also saw his miniature saw blade arm, the arm he uses to connect to data sockets and shock with, the extender manipulator arm with grip, and also what looks like the barrel and assembly of a blaster (no stock/handle/grip). This stuff might all be dormant until such functionality is actually turned on. Even if it's just inert unused graphics like the underwear and bra in the shuttle, it was still cool to find. A nice little Easter Egg. I wonder if all the astromechs have this stuff inside them.

When they die, the appendages flail out. Somebody posted a screen shot of an R2 unit dying a while back. Pretty neat to see that they at least have utencils, even if they don't do a **edit** thing.

It's true! They have little saws, robot arms and pincers and what appears to be a blaster muzzle in there!

I've seen several attackable Astromech droids in several cities and i've always attacked them because its so darned funny when they die heh.
