Absolutely. I only see it when experimenting. As for it really working.. I don't think anyone but the code gods has a clue. All I have to go on are the testimonies of my customers, which have been fairly positive.

The rating for droid stations is +/- 10. From basic research from various DEs over on the swgcraft.com forums, is appears that a zero rated droid station is approximately equivalent to a +25 home station.

As for range, as a Master DE, with +13 in experimentation tapes (ie one extra experimentation point to use compared to a regular DE), running with 947 CD, 917 OQ copper and 946 OQ gas I can hit a +7 rated station every time I make one, assuming no crits on the experimentation.

I wanna know how much functionality you can get from a droid with a crafting station module, are the modules all the same or are they able to be expiramented on?

we can't see the numbers, so we don't know. Some speculate but nothing official.

Crafting stations are the only droid component that I believe experimentation actually works on.

The best I've ever been able to get (as a Master DE with 950+ resources) is a +5 rating. According to my customers, they have fewer crit-fails on their droid stations than they do on their +35% home stations, so I must be doing something right!

Where do you see this rating? If you could enlighten us, it would be greatly appreciated.

it's only speculations. Others say they are like +20 house crafting stations. Until I see the final numbers in a droid, I'm not wasting good resources in them.

You see it in the upper left corner while you're experimenting during crafting.

They are going by the same mechanism rating that all DE built subcomponets have, but we have no real idea if it makes a difference or not.

In another thread someone did a little testing with their architect friends.

Using a private crafting station with something like 35 rating and a droid crafting station which they couldn't tell the rating, and creating the same number (like 30 or 40) of the same item on each, they couldn't really tell the difference between either as far as success rate or final item stats.

But some of his friends swore the droid stations performed better and had thrown their private stations away using their droid for all crafting.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I regularly get 5 rating 60%+ with the resources I use. I'm sure once we get a full 100 experimentation I'll be able to pump them up into the 90's.

The rating that many are refering to actually isn't related to the functionality of the droid crafting station at all. The rating is the mechanical rating that is associated with each and every droid part built and is supposed to be what would have an effect on the final build of a droid, if the HAM/damage cap was removed.

(For those curious about what I am refering to when I say HAM/damgae cap, it is the currect cap that was put into place when Probots were nerfed and doesn't allow the droid experimentation, that is working, to effect the final product, except for a .005-.01% increase. If/When the capsare removed we should expect to see the same kinds of improvements to our product that Weapoonsmiths and Armorsmiths see, which could be as high as a 300% increase to the current HAM and damage, unless the system gets reworked.)

As to what the acutal droid crafting station rating is.....Lately, I've experimenting on a lot of non-DE made parts that use Master Artisan experimentation. I used my droid's crafting station for 25 different items and had 2 Crit Fails, 4 less than Great sucess results, and 3 Amazing results. I then used a crafting station with a 41.00 rating, which I built, and recieved 1 Crit Fail, 3 less than Great sucess results, and 5 Amazing results. I built the same items, the different types of weapon power ups, and I used the same materials. If the same results were to hold true in a test of 100 items each, the following would be the resulting percentage rates.

Test Results Droid Station Private Station
Crit Fails 8% 4%
Less than Great 16% 12%
Amazing 12% 20%

Three things to keep in mind about these results are 1) To gain an acurate testing % one would have to build 300-500 like items 2) The testing results are based on the overall build and not the actual number of times that the each item was experimented on 3) I didn't use a public crafting station in this test, so that I could come up with a base line. If I get the chance later this week, I'll see about running a test on all three types of stations, since I've been curious as to the statitcal difference in each station.

First of all I'll state that I believe that rating has nothing to do whatsoever with the quality of the crafting station, and I've heard both sides of the fence about what is better. That being said, I regularly get +9's, with a few +10's in there as well. If you don't believe me its because I have a +25 enhancement, giving me 8 experimentation points instead of 5. It also seems that as the percentages get higher, the rate of increase in the number goes up as well.
