Thread: Droid colours don't last very long
If you can limit yourself to calling the droid once a day, you should (theoretically) get almost three weeks out of it.
IF, on the other hand, you find that you can never store your droid without it's color fading, there is a very good chance that your droid is an older R-unit made before October the eighth. That was the day the customization was introduced, and astromechs made before that don't do a good job holding their colors. In addition, even if the droid was made after October 8, but with a chassis crafted before that date, it may exhibit the same problem.
I remember this date well, because it was my 36th birthday, I took off work, and my present was a broken profession and down servers all day.
My Power Droid won't hold color for 15 minutes. No need to store and call it, it just loses color in 5 minutes or less.
Same thing for the last R2 unit I painted.
Droid colors need to just stay permanently, or until next changed. 20 stores/calls is not a lot so even when it's working "right" is sucks.
I'm having the same problem with my Power droid, and my brother's R4. Color simply won't stick.
It seems to me that droid colours don't last that long. I had a droid coloured about 2 days ago, stored him after about 15 min, called him out today and the colours were gone!
I should think that colours should last at least a week I would hope more like a month. It is hard enough finding a DE to do it.

What? But I thought thats what master droid engineers were there for. You mean it wasn't the original intention of our profession's design to run around with a can of paint all day? Gee, how disapointing.
