It's very simple. Those who want DE to remain a crafting class simply not engage in combat droid. Period. Those that want to be combat droid engineers have that option. I don't see any conflict. Rather I see more options for us. To those who believe that DE is a crafting profession, by all means,nothing is stopping you from crafting. Don't get involve in the combat aspect of DE. Those who want have some combat can do so.

This is exactly what I've been saying all along. The DE/CH hybrid would be what you made it while at the same time allowing those of us who would like a bit more combat to have that option. Both camps can be happy.

This works under one condition, don't stop us from selling the combat droids to anyone we want (that implies that someone other than DE's must be able to use them, in other words, no DE-only droids). You can't ask for choice to be only one way.

If they took away the combat droids and only allowed a specialized combat DE to use them, that would take away half my business. I can see maybe one elite combat droid useable by some specialized class, but don't try and take away all the combat droids that anyone can use. You'd kill the profession and leave us with buggy, module stacking, droids that DE engineers have no reason to Master the craft for.

As I've posted elsewhere, make 2 versions of droids, the normal one for everyone and a slightly more advanced one for DEs. (Maybe extra HAM and to hit.)

Combat/crafting choice! DE still get new chassis to sell, combat types get to play that way, crafters can still be pure crafters, DEs get a slightly advanced or somehow special model (but not so much better than the new droids that people will sit through the grind exclusively for it).
