Is it possible to permanently change the colour of an already owned droid ?

Depends on when it was made, and what type it is.

I should add that R units made pre-patch can't get changed. Most others can. The change is temporary (ie: the customization will fade).

hehe, it was the R2 med droid i bought from your vendor last night.....

Colors are sticking on the R2s without problem for me, regardless of when they were crafted. The R4 and R5 are working also.

The R3 doesn't work. It goes away as soon as you put it in the datapad and pull it back out.
