DE's should be able to make IG-88's at the master level, why be a DE with a fragile Probe Droid, when I can be a CH with 2 Rancor, this whole only allowing one battle droid is way unbalanced, why make CH weaker make other things better ! Assassin droids would be ........SCHAWEEEEEEEEEEET !!!!!!

After having thought about it, I'd be just as happy with the ability to field2 CL-25 Droidekas or 3 CL-20 Roger-Roger droids as I would fielding a CL-50 or 60 R.D.E.D.D. unit.

(That's "Rancor Destroying Engine of Death and Destruction"... thanks to whoever coined that term. )

That way the combat droids that we can make would be within range of what an Elite profession player might be allowed to command in single units. Tho' perhapse with reduced effectiveness.

Just thinking out loud...

Well... I don't know how accurate it is, but advanced probots con as CL-16.

'course that is taking into account medium armor...

Yes Advanced Probots do indeed con at level 16, but hahahahahaha.... sorry had to laugh, look at the damage output, 50 per shot, and thats before resists are taken in to account.

The highest level creature an Adv Probot can handle on a 1 to 1 basis is a Minor Guf Drolg(sp) (trust me I have done extensive tests on what a probot can take on and win) these creatures can be found on Talus if you want to check it out.

But, be prepared to sit and wait.... and wait.... and wait, while the battle progresses. Takes about 5 mins for an Adv Probot to take out one of these creatures. And thats if the creature does not do all its damage to just one of the HAM barstats of the droid, otherwise, droid may lose anyway.

Face it, Adv Probots are a joke, especially in a PvP environment. Heres a fun test, start a new toon, get it up to a level where he can use a scout blaster (level 2 in pistol i believe) and find someone who has an Adv Probot you can duel, and fight just the droid. Guess who wins? The newbie with the scout blaster, everytime.

Combat droids are a joke, and evidently just an afterthought to the designers, who added them the day before the game went live it seems

Why on earth would you WAIT while a probot kills something? It's a defensive weapon primarily, with just enough offenses to take the monster's attention away from you. The function of the probot is to take aggro and survive while you go after it with a real weapon.

Used properly, a probot is an effective tool for low through mid-level content.

No... There were only 5 created and all 5 were destroyed between Empire and Return of the Jedi. So it should remain.

Well, this might not be the work of an IG-88 but the whole central computer on the second deathstar is infact taken over by one of these assasindroids. So the rebellion did a favor to very many ppl when they destroyed it... hmmm, that has nothing to do with this.

IG-88 was a special case, a renegade AI with big plans. But his basic model came from somewhere!

Additionally there is new canon, including an entire class of 'IG Lancers' being introduced by the new Clone Wars cartoon, and this stuff is actually appearing at the star wars databank site.

So it's just possible that an IG type droid could become a player-craftable item, but it would not have the raw killing power that IG-88s A-E had.

Hmmm, If I remember correctly the IG-88 killed it's creators. Still this might be me misstaking IG-88 for another type of droid.

Yep, but there are other examples of "assassin" droids in the EU. Valerianhad one that I think Jabba later neutered and had reprogrammed as a messenger.
