Thread: How to get massive un-avoidable attention from DEVS

Okay woody did it before and we can do it again, Have a large huge massive meeting of DE's, but this time the purpose is a PROTEST.
YES, flood the largest cities with DE's yelling and cauing bandwidth problems. Flood single planets causing massive amounts of lag. Camp at star ports to cause delays. hundreds of droid engineers mobbing will most likely get attention. Call it a EVENT (like in the event section). All the lag that we cause has to get some sort of attention.
(Or SOE might put up droid engineers in the bounty hunter terminals)

Sure, great idea. Lets try and get attention by throwing a tantrum and ruining any chance that someone else has for enjoying their evening.

I remember when Al Sharpton did that to New York, causing havoc for commuters.
I would not be a party to doing this in a game, which other people are ALSO paying for, and ruining THEIR day, not that of the developers.

Dude, at this point we can't flood a cantina let alone a city. Anyway, these boards are the place to protest. Best thing to do in game is to talk to DEs who may not come to the boards and get them to stop in.

Yes this is a joke. I dont think there are even a hundred droid engineers. I thought it was pretty obvious it was a joke (putting DE in bounty hunter terminals...)

A bounty hunter walks in to a medium naboo house, The house is littered with droid chassis and other parts.
He walks into the basement to see his makr sitting over his work bench working on something, he assumes he's crafting a lightsaber.
BH: I've Got you now Jedi!
DE: Huh?
BH: I have a mission to kill you, perpare to die Jedi.
The BH shoots the DE with with his LLC
DE: What the bloody hell are you doing? I am not a Jedi.
BH: Yes you are I got a mission from the terminals to kill you. And your holding a light saber in your hands.
DE holds up a Manipulatior arm.
DE: This?!? This is a manipulator arm its going in this 3po unit.
DE throws the manipulator arm at the BH.
BH: Ummmm... How do I know this isn't a lightsaber part. I'm a Bounty Hunter I don't craft things.
DE: Check to see who made your seeker droid, Im going to the cantina for a beer.
DE walks out of his ship, kicking a droid brain as he leaves.

Max amount of DEs I got in one place was 65 
They walked by more players in Coronet just flying out to the meeting point.
But we're working on something along those lines, though protests in-game won't generally have much effect unless we roamed around as a mob of 70 and found some amazing way to grief people with droids. That'd be funny, don't get me wrong, but I don't think we should do that.
(70 BLLs all chasing one player... till they all reported 'low power' like last time though)

I remember when a bunch of anti-war protestors did that here in San Francisco when the second Iraq war started. They blocked roads and highways and made it impossible for anyone to get to work.
All they accomplished was conveying to myself and my friends and coworkers that they were a bunch of inneffictual morons. I didn't even support the war, but these fools accomplished was to convince me that I definitely do not support the people who strongly protest against the war either.
This would be no different. Disrupting innocent players intheir attempts to play the game accomplishes nothing. All it will accomplish is to piss people off.
What I've begun to do is "grind" bug report requests every couple of days in the same way I would "grind" crafting xp. Submitted a dozen of them yesterday.

only if it was one of those poor schmucks that likes to "pretend" he's a Dev. someone like that deserves some abuse even if he isn't really a dev.

I suppose we can take up combat professions and do our best to grief the living hell out of anyone we see. We can also take our last Seekers and Arakyds and put them on our last vendors for 100k a crate, just to tease any BHs who are having trouble finding a supplier. Have a goal of 100 bug reports a day on standard DE issues.
Kinda hard for people with a crafting background to grief. If we had that kind of mentality in the first place, we would have been CH/BH or CH/CMs and all talk like 10 year old leet-scum.
