Well since they are basically just walking bilboards, should i bother making advanced ones and just stick with the basic?

Next week, beginning after the patch on Thursday, there will be a reason to make advanced ones, since apparently they'll be able to.... hold your breath.... be made with one module.
Other than that, the only reason to make advanced ones is because someone ordered a BLL, and you've got a chassis on display you want to get rid of.

it's up to you. it makes no difference. probably better to save the resources and not bother with the advanced ones though.

Yes, BiLLboards actually do generate considerable interest, and in fact I've sold at least four or five of them. I honestly should make sure I always keep at least one on a vendor, because when I do it's always sold within 2 or 3 weeks.

Well, I find them usefull for showing off and getting higher mission levels... even though it's just very little improvement.

I always felt that by crafting and owning a BLL yourselfyou have finally earned the title as a Master of Droid Engineering.

at this point, I consider myself to "effectively" a Master Droid Engineer at 4/3/1/4. At least in terms of the game mechanics. I can't build everything but I can supply any player with five droids that will collectively encompass the full range of droid functionality and will give him 50 slots of extra item storage. I can't build the uber droid that does almost everything cause I can't do Level 6 modules and I do nothave access to the advanced R3. But with so little over-all functionality and a 5 droid per-player limit, there is no need for such a droid at all.
I don't mean to ridicule or belittle the actualy Masters of this profession. But my point is that at 4/3/1/4 I am already maxxed out in terms of the useful functionality that this profession has to offer the community.
And with everything else pushed aside, that is what is fundamentally wrong with this profession.

About those Billboard droid.
I like the idea.
Don't you think it would be nice to add a 'bio/description' on droids so you can say : what you sell, at what prices, and give a percise waypoint?

just name the droid when you program it. I know its tedious and you wont be able to fit all the info you indicated but it is possible to use as a sign.

have you guys had success using htem like that at all? i plan on making like 5 of them and just finding people who might be interested in them and trying to sell them. Having them on a vendor doesnt seem like it would be as effective as actually looking for people who may be interested.

I haven't had success selling advertising droids, but I have had amazing success using them myself.
I crafted 3 R2 droids and give them this name: Shops-in-Sidoras-Bey-Talus
I gave one to the mayor. I gave one to another major player in the city. And I kept one for myself. We leave them on patrol in major cities and starports daily, and have been doing so constantly for the last 3 weeks.
Sales at all of our vendors have tripled because of it.
