Thread: Attempting to keep my chin up...let's talk Probots.
- You need to fight and have your Probot called and following.
- You tell it to stop (anid attack) so that you can set up a crossfire on the target.
- You run off to triangulate and....
The Probot follows you even though you told it to stay.
I think that when the Probot is going into combat 'mode', it's forgetting it is supposed to either stay or follow.
Anyone else seen this?
Anyone else care?
Note: In addition, I love how the Probot will now follow so that it is RIGHT on top of you. Nothing looks more silly than a Wookiee wearing a Probot for a hat.

Yeah, I noticed this last night while I was completing that insanely tough shellfish tool mission.I had my old Probot Primus helping me with that quest(not to be confused with my other droids Secundus, Tertius, Quattro, and Chuck).
They do seem a bit odd on the movements and commands. I'm still evaluating.
Virtanis,
Did you notice that the following seems.....off?
Slower?
I even had a Probot autostore on me. That's fun. I can't wait until camp restrictions are finally lifted. It's a pain to get on my swoop and have to 'string along' my Probot into following me to a mission.

Very interesting. I Have not used my probot for combat since.......... I have Pistols 4 and a kickin FWG5, hrm....... These things can fight?
It holds 10 items tho!
But seriously, I am a MDE and I only use my R2 and Probots for storage. When I go on missions with my friends (who I all gave the 'new post nerf unnerfed Probot') not one of them uses one. They do not follow orders and they are always the first to get knocked out and you can not heal them.... why do we have these again? Oh right for storage.

Hehe, nice subject....wonder where he got that thought??? ![]()

Noticed this last night when I was doing the Shellfish harvester quest.... stupid droid ![]()

Yes, 'nuff said.

I belive that this is the new Wookie armor that they have been petitioning forGoes along with the layeredbiological (read paper) armor that they got last patch! Still working on finding all the components to that one

Umm, my Probots regularly tank mountain dewbacks for me (red /con to me, I have only 2 boxes of HSword). A few days ago a probot tanked 4 mountain dewbacks while I killed them one by one. Granted, he was trashed before the last dewback fell, but I was most impressed.
Hmm, I hope TH doesn't read that or he'll think they're overpowered and ripe for a nerf.
My probot regularly tanks for me against anything that aggroes me on my harvester runs. I just have to make the runs slower, i.e. with vehicle in first gear (shift key down) for him to keep up. But a probot WILL keep up with even a Swoop in first gear! And that's faster than a Kaado at normal run.
I do most of my harvesting on Naboo, after losing a few battles against those flying pterodactyls that shoot poison on Lok in my first (and only) personal quest for cheap Lokian Wild Wheat. (I got Ypat, so that shows how far back that was), so while I'm not facing rancors, his aggroing the occasional Plains Hunter that pops up has saved my butt more than once.
AND, he's never taken over maybe 1/4 health bar damage in dozens of "bar fights" with the Skaak thugs in town, so he doesn't do badly at all, for my level of fighting anyway. Now if I were Uber L337 Commando/BH/whatever, I doubt I'd want 812 HAM (even when refigured to 2520 with 40% resists and medium armor) alongside me rather than either another Uber L337 Commando/HG/whatever like myself of a half dozen rancors. Can they still do that?
The Probot Droid has its place: alongside newbies and those of us in one crafting profession or another who've spent more points on vendors and the Merchant profession than on weapons skills. For the more combat oriented classes, if they want something mechanical rather than flesh fighting with them, they'll have to wait til Publish 8. Or maybe 9, or even 10. :->
