So, I have been posting here for a couple of weeks now, due to my non holo-grinding character, Sirgleno, pursuing Droid Engineer as a profession, and am nearing 0-0-0-4.
Now, I was able to get a holocron with Sirgleno, and thought what the heck, I will just see what it says, and if it is easy, I will go ahead and do it.
Bam, I have to master Droid Engineer, well, I couldn't have asked for a better draw as Sirgleno stands now, and am interested in what my 2nd draw will be, but will not be trashing my char in pursuit of random professions.
Peace, Love, and Droids,

Keep your second Holocron, they are changing the way you unlock force sensative slots. Probably by the next publish, not the one that went out today, all holocrons will be is fancy decorations.

Sheesh, anyone let me in on the quality that the original post has that deems it one-star quality?

I honestly have no idea, so I did my bit to repair the damage.

The one-star bandit is running rampant in these forums, I ignore it usually. I get it all the time.

I wish I could remember where I read this, but...
In a Dev post, they stated that the Jedi/holocron issue would be looked
at over the next few months.
Unless they are going to disable FS slot creation until they figure out
how they are going to work things in the future, your holocrons should be
good for a little while longer.
If someone has seen conflicting info, please post it.

What is really kewl, is my first elite profession was DE...I got the Jedi Music for it.
Now I have picked up Merchant. I get the jedi music for it.
So, it appears I am already on my way to my Jedi character without even using a holocron.

They've said in two threads (search the Jedi forum) that the unlocking system will be changing dramatically, that holocrons will be little more than decoration. They've also said firmly that there is no timeframe on this change (and have said nothing significant about how it will change beyond that 'the work you've already put into the old system if you've been trying to unlock that way will be compensated with the new system').
So... if it's a profession you like, go ahead and grind the next holo. You will, in theory, get 'credit' in however the new system works to represent your effort in the grind system. If it's not, don't, and hope the new system is more friendly to non-grinding methodology (and takes less than 4 months to discover how it works/to make it work).
For my part, I'll keep on trying to finish mine. Silent on the third holo, no craft or medical professions mastered when it went silent, and up to five craft professions mastered since then. I hear the 'You'll be compensated for your effort', but let's say my faith is strained at best.

HOLY CRAP
this is the weirdest thing. The same exact thing happened to me. I did Droid Engineer for fun, and used a holo midway through and it told me to master Droid Engineer. Sure this isn't a bug, or a weird coincedance? lol I ended up mastering it, but saw how boring it was and dropped it

Lol, I guess I am a Jedi newb, but music ??? I take it you get some special music if you master one of the classes to open the slot ?
I guess I picked the wrong professions then, I haven't heard anything special yet. My holocron told me to be a dancer, so I guess I never will hear that special music.
