It will all go to your inventory, so you can use it without worry. It should actually be better because it should harvest more than a compareable droid with a storage mod.

What the droid is harvesting is NOT going into my inventory. I've double checked it.

I've told him to collect hides, and then I target the corpse and issue my command "hunt" and off he goes.

That's it. No spacial announcement telling me that R3 droid has collected xxx units or anything.

Yes, I am a 4040 scout now and I've hunted before, just not with a droid.

Strange. I've used one, and it worked perfectly fine for me. Did you set what you wanted it to harvest?

How far away from the corpse was you ?

I've noticed that if I am a certain distance away (can't remember exactly what that distance is) the droid forgets the command and I have to walk nearer to the corpse and tell him again.

This seems to be a general problem with droids, at lesat if not all pets.
Once it gets to 64m away from you it will stop. If you sent the droid after a target you will need to get within 64m of the target for the droid to actually carry out the action.

The droid doesn't forget the command, as if you get closer when it stops it then carries on.

This happens for cobmat droids sent to attack, detonation droids etc.

Yes, I set the droid to harvest hides (and that resource was available from the animal (Moufs on Kashyyyk))

I tried to harvest both from a long distance ( I have dual ranged arms) and from up close. Still no change in the problem.

My only thought now is to go with an experienced hunter and let him try to use the droid.

You do have at least novice scout in your template yes ?

Yes. 4040 Scout (Was Master Ranger, now going BH)

What section of Kash were you in? I have been totally unable to call any of my droids inside any of the gated areas, nor inside any of the instances. I know other people have been able to call droids in both areas. It may be that your droid is buggy on Kashyyk. Try on another planet, see if it makes any difference.
