Thread: Stickies Are Wrong? How Do You Use Stimpack Dispensers?

I've been getting a lot of confused customers who are trying to figure out how to use the Stimpack Dispenser equipped Droids I make, and after trying to brush up my knowledge with the stickies and searching on the subject, the information seems outdated. Let me get this down with current information from you guys:

1. Who can load Stim-As into a Droid, and what skills must they have to do so?

2. Who can /requeststimpack from a Stimpack equiped Droid, and do they need any specific skills to do so?

I've heard only a Master Combat Medic can load and use this module, but somehow that doesn't seem right to me, and some of my MCM customers have reported an inability to load or use the Dispenser.

So what's the current skinny on Stim Dispenser Modules?

It is 0040 Medic, not Combat Medic, not Doctor, just 0040 Medic, which a Novice Doctor will have

Yes, now that is sounding more correct. So:

To load: anyone with 0040 Medic can load stim-as into the Droid (So it's conceivable that a MCM wouldn't be able to load the stims) Does the Medic have to group with the Droid to load it?

To use: anyone grouped with the Droid and its owner can /requeststimpack

Does anyone have anything else to add to this? If I tell my customers this, they're going to be able to use the Droid and not return it, right?

No that is correct, you need to actually transfer the droid to the person fillnig it though, just grouping wont be enough.

I thought it was Medic 0004 or Doc 0004 to load the stimpack unit? But that once loaded any player can /requeststimpack... At least thats what I told a customer this week anyhow.

Of course, knowing how well our modules work right now, you probably need ID 4000, Novice Chef, Master Scout and Imperial Pilot 2111 to do it

It is 0040 Medic needed to load them. Some CM's may have that, but all Docs do.

Anybody can use them, once loaded.

As long as you're in the group with the droid's owner, I believe anyone can request a stimpack from it.

OK, so clarification:

What skill is needed to load? Is it Combat Medic 0004, Doctor 0004,Combat Medic 0040 or Doctor 0040?

What is needed to use? Anybody can use it? But only if they're in the same group as the Droid? Does the Droid's owner have to be part of the group?

OK so the information continues to evolve:

To load: a Medic 0040 who has the Droid on their datapad can load the stim-as into it.

To use: anyone grouped with the Droid and the Droid's owner can /requeststimpack

LOL! Getting this description down is like pulling teeth! But it's coming along. Anyone else have anything to add? Can I finally start offering this to customers again(12 year old BHs need not apply ) based on this information?

My mistake was in assuming Medics know their profession well enough to know how to use a Stim Droid. Well, I was wrong. They don't.

I'm a master medic (with a DE alt) and I was able to fill the stimpack module with stims (it asked me which ones very nicely - although it didn't recognize them in CRATES and i had to break them out).

I tried it today with /requeststim as the command and it said 'you have no damage to heal' which was correct when i was not in combat and no messages but no apparrent healing either when i entered combat.

I am searching to see what i did wrong now ...

The command is not like the follow or attack commands.

It must be issues each time that you want the droid to stim you.

The way to work around this is to set up a macro such as -

  • DroidHeal

    • /requeststim (name of droid) *Don't forget the () around the droids name.

    • /pause 30.5

    • /macro DroidHeal

This will make is so the droid heals automatically.
