Thread: Too much M-fire...can astromechs spray extinguisher like artoo did in ESB?

They can even use the foam-y animation from the entertainer accompanyment...what do you DE's think?
There is actually already an animation for R-droids putting out fires in some NPC bases.
Neat little mod, but I have to agree with Straker on this one.
While I am not at all opposed to the idea, and actually think it would make a nice addition and very hot seller (no pun intended), I don't see it happening. More because it has already been proposed several times already and been passed over. ![]()

Great idea, but it would diminjish the value of a Doc, so we probably wont see it.
No we probably will not see it as the Devs do not care to add content to the DE profession. Just be glab they dont look at us the same as they look at the Smugglers...sucks to be them. *nods*
And no, it wiould not diminish the value of Docs....in point of fact it would allow us to sell Fire Blankets to load into these proposed droids. Right now if you can use a Fire Blanket...you can make them too so selling them is extremely difficult.
Frankly with these new Mind Fire Pikes that are starting to spring up everywhere, the Devs really do need to either make extinguisher droid mods or lower the level needed to /extinguishFire.

So...the stimpack droid doesn't diminish the value of Medics? *boggle*
Uh...no it does not. You think Stim A's hold a candle to Stim D's that a 0,0,4,0 Medic can use?

Ok, I guess I need to be a little more clear.
Yes we have the Stimpack Droid, which can only be loaded with Stim A's. Those heal for about 100 a pop, with a max speed of about 1 second. These can be very very handy to have. However compare their healing ability to somebody with Stim B's, or say a Master Doc with E's. Compared to that, they don't do very well. So even with Stim droids, Doc still have a "place" in the playing field.
Now if you have a "Fire extinguisher Droid," how do you stagger it's effectiveness compared to a Master Doc? WIll it only put out 1/4 of the fire? 1/2? You are basically taking a Doc skill and putting it into a droid that anybody can use. This does devalue the Doc profession, and makes them less "needed," at least in the field.
As cool as this Droid seems to us, the thought of it would be appalling to the Doc community.
