Ok I've been playing the game for awhile but I've stayed away from droids untill now. I just bought an advanced probot droid that apparently has storage mods and data mods (can hold one "item" and 20 waypoints). I have a few questions that I was hoping the professionals could help me out with First, how do I know when I need to recharge my droid? Second, what happens if I don't? Third, how many charges do I get out of a battery I buy? Fourth, is there any limit to the number of mods I can add on the droid? Fifth, can I put missions in my droid's datapad? Sixth, is there anyway to upgrade the droids weapons (mine has light armor but does very weak damage)? Finally, how do you heal a droid? Again, sorry for all the questions but I'm new to droids (as a Ranger I haven't had much use for one before) and thanks for any help you can give.

What can you do with a protocal droid?

1. The droid will say *low power* in chat when you give it a command (if you are close enough)

2. It will just follow you but wont obey any other commands (and will just reply with *low power*

3. Depends on the battery, you will see a number for charges just like any other stacked item

4. You cannot add modules to droids once they are built

5. Not anymore (this was nerfed a while back) by the way you cant store waypoints either

6. No, only armour can be upgraded and only during construction

7. Time (either called or in datapad) or find someone with a repair droid (you cant use a repair droid yourself at the same time and repair tools dont work)

P.S. Protocol droids are totally useless

Well I'll try to answer as many as possible. (Someone correct me if I get any wrong:smileyhappy

First, how do I know when I need to recharge my droid? &Second, what happens if I don't?

Right now it's not too easy to tell. easyest wayis when the droid stops fighting for you and just sits there. Occasionally I've seen with mine that it'll reply to my orders with a message telling me it needs a recharge, but usually it jsut sits there and waits.

Third, how many charges do I get out of a battery I buy?

The number of charges is listed in the upper right corner of the items icon. so if a 3 appeard in th eupper corner then you have 3 uses/ charges till the battery is used up.

Fourth, is there any limit to the number of mods I can add on the droid?

Once a droid is crafted no further modifications can be made to it. Though usually for a Probot its one Armor module and two other modules that can be placed within. though don't quote me on that. I've yet to be able to make probots myself. (that's the next skill I pick up:smileywink this isn't for all droids as that differnt droids have a differnt number of module slots available to them.

Fifth, can I put missions in my droid's datapad?

Sorry tobe bearer of bad news, but no. As of a couple of patches ago this is no longer possible. The developers removed this ability of the data module saying something about it not being the modules intended function and that players weren't supposed to be able to run 12 missions (10 in the data modules and 2 in the datapad) at any one time.

The Armor is the result of the Armor module that was added to the Droid when it was created once created the modules can't be removed/ replaced. The weapon is part of the basic droid design and to my knowledge cannot be changed in any way. (If it was I'd replace mine with a Rocket launcher )

Probots were Nerfed by the developers asa 'temporary' measure for some reason having to deal with 'any player being able to have one and they were too powerful etc..' So until some certification system is in place the weak probot is here to stay. (Of course then they allow players to own pets, many of which have stats that equal or exceed the old probot stats.. But I won't go any further into that. It's a rather touchy and sore subject for many of us Droid Engineers. so moving on.)

Finally, how do you heal a droid?

Time. Yup so far that's the only way. Just return it to the datapad and wait. Or jsut leave it out and wait. Either way it has to heal naturally. There is a Droid healing kit coming out sometime down the line, but until it hits the live servers, droid owners will need patience to wait for thier droids to heal.

Well thx for all the answers. I bought the droid just for fun (6k for an advanced probot I think I got a good deal?) So basically I have a droid that has descent armor but is too weak to use as a tank or a fighter, has a storage mod that holds one whole item lol, and a data mod that doesn't work. Let me be the first to say SWEET lol. I'm not mad since I'm not hurting formoney and got it just for fun but this is really sad. I remember the probot nerf, but come on people.What I'm basically finding out is droids for the moment are useless. Ah well, you guys have my thanks for answering my questions and my sympathy to your class (my class just got some love maybe you'renext *hope*).

So it sounds like you bought an advanced probot with lvl 1 mods. Higher lvl modules have increased uses. A higher lvl storage mod, for instance, holds more than 1 item. Higher lvl armor mods have, of course, increased armor, enabling it to take a longer beating before it's dead. Unfortunately, as has been pointed out, the damage still isn't very good with no real way to increase it. The current incarnation of Probot is best used in a support fire role.

Mine has saved me from a death or two, when i've been incapped and it's managed to finish off the baddie.
