How close does a medical droid need to be to me to get the healing bonuses with it? Could i leave it in the corner of a starport and fight someone on the other side of the city and would I still get the healing bonus?

No the droids need to be next to you. You dont see doctors yelling across the operation table at nurses for equipment, and them tossing it to them from across the room do you. Same applies to droids, they would need to be with in i would say 30m for them to be effective.

15 meters is what my CM has found, but that's hard to judge due to server latency.
