After reading another thread on max droid health post-CU, am I correct in thinking that resource quality and experimentation have no effect on the total droid health rating whatsoever?

Correct. Experimentation and resource quality no longer have any bearing on the droid's health.

Ok I'm confused now, I'm a brand new DE and I read all the stickies and FAQ's and everything and even wrote down that list of 26 named resources that I'm supposed to go buy or harvestwith 50/50 OQ and CD in mind. Are you guys saying that quality no longer matters on these as well? Basically it's now like making spice where resource quality doesn't matter at all?

No; back In the Day (the long, long ago), the OQ of the chemicals used in the final deed build of the droid used to determine the health of the droid (that, and experimenting). Since Publish 18-ish, this is no longer the case. The health of the droid is determined by adding combat modules. Maybe armor modules too...I forget...
But regardless, other modules still need high quality resources and experimenting; auto-repair, detonation, and creature harvesting to name a few.

Ok, so I only need to worry about resources for the specific modules like the ones you mentioned and not the chassis or anything else that still shows a "quality bar" when you load a resource into a spot in the crafting tool. Well that will hopefully make it easier when I need to find some of those named resources. Thanks for the info.

Yes this is what I have found.
However something that I would like an answer on along the same lines is battery life. I started my DE grind post publish 18. And on my way there I noticed as a novice DE that droid battery life seems to go down fast. This is not using power conuming modules like auto-repair and such, in general the battery life seems to go down faster than I would have expected. I have not seen this issue on the forum before. Is battery life related to effectiveness or quality. Since I made master DE I have not noticed it but assumed it was because I was making high quality droids, and the bug with the power display getting stuck at 75% made it hard to tell anyway.

The battery time on a droid is suppossed to be 4 hours, excluding heavy use like entertainer effects or auto-repair. Nothing we do as DE's can make this longer or shorter.
