Thread: Simple approach to DE & Combat Droids

I have a simpleobservation that I would like to toss out there for you all to comment on...
In reguards to DE and combat droids my impression was that light (probot) and medium combat droids would be available NEAR the begining of February (Flexability in these areas is a must, as corrdination of such an addition cannot happen overnight). And that The Heavy model combat droid would come later...
I was also under the impression that Master DE's would be allowed to call 1 Combat Droid, and 1 Utility Droid (R-series,Power Droid, ect.) or 2 Utility Droids at once...
My last impression was that Non DE's would be able to use the Light model (probot) ONLY, and that Mid Level DE's (Dabblers) would be allowed to use the Medium Level Combat Droid. The Heavy Combat Droid would be completely reserved for Master DE's...
Now I don't see how this is a "Clone" of the CH class! I see this as the DEVs doing their best to give US (The DE's... The same people who have complained,cried,and griped about the probot since it's first NERF) exactly what we asked for...
I honestly and whole heartedly feel that the DE class has been near forgotten about... But I also don't see where "Shooting Down or Re-Vamping" the profession by splitting it into a crafter class and a combat class will fix things either...

Thanx for the suooprt, hope others feel the same... I for one would like to see us all come toegther on this so that the DEVS can make it happen!

Most people don't want to become the Combat class that CH is. We have no combat skills neccesary to become MDE, so why should we become a combat class.
I know I used to feel this way, I have jumped ship and now would support the only DE gets to control the combat droids. But right now I don't care to get into a fight about it

Well, right now DE is simply a crafting class. If you were to really add great combat droids availbe to various levels of DE, you'd havea very different type of player becoming a DE. You'd have the type who would view DE as merely a "tool" to gain additional combat power, and then add it to a combat class, much like CH has been treated throught it's history. Thats ok for CH, thats what it's here for. But DE isn't that, and i don't think many of you would like to see it become that.

Ok, not to argue, but isn't buying a probot a "Tool" to gain additional combat power?
Can the same not be said for buying a non-CH pet from a CH?
Could it not also be said then that buying any other Series of Droid with a medical module is a "Tool" to gain additional healing power.... In turn lasting longer in combat therefore it is a Combat tool also???
In Summary isn't buying any and all droids a TOOL to gain in this game... Isn't that the whole intent???? I feel that maybe "WE" have gotten so protective of our negelcted profession that we are loosing sight of something here...

Why do I have to Ask another player to repair the damage to my own probot, when I have an R3 Droid with a repair module installed sitting in my datapad????
Guys, Lets not be so short sighted and protective that we KILL our already tattered profession... I say lets accept with grace any and all things that add to this Profession...
