I dunno if this has been said before, but people should have to travel to themeparks and special places on planets (like Lok's volcanoe for example) to discover lost blueprints of droids in the past. That would be so cool, and it would give Droid Engineers a sense of satisfaction to build a droid not many have seen. Wanna learn to build a Trade Federation battledroid? Go to the battlefield on Naboo and find some broken pieces or a lost blueprint.

That would be kewl...IF a DE could defend himself against the enemies there...LOL. I guess will have to have my commando buddy tag along.
Seriously though, this is a GREAT IDEA!
They have quests for artisans, bounty hunters, rebels, imperials, entertainers, explorers...lol. Why not add this to that?
DE Mission Terminal: "Scientist in Need: Winthrop Gonquin of Talus has come to the galactic trade commission with a proposal for a new Droid attachment to be used in a droid which serves the government of Coronet. He has come into hard times. It seems he is unable to find a leg attachment which gives this new driod the ability to run backwards. He does not know where this piece is located. You must find this leg attachment and give it to him at his Research Center on Naboo in Theed. Reward will be 15,000 credits and a blueprint for Battle Droid R8-CE. Please hurry, for if his research is not completed quickly, his funding will be pulled from his organization. You may be able to get information on the whereabouts of this attachment if youspeak to a few of the Droid Engineer trainersin the galaxy."

GAH, DARN LACK OF EDIT BUTTON...LOL.
In addition, give this quest a time click on it, like 2 days or something. And, make the blueprint uncopyable, so the DE can not make manufacturing schematic and give it to all his/her friends.
That person could,however, sell the blueprint he/she recieved.
