Wow, does it feel odd being back here, if only for a few days. Thanks to SOE's generous offer of letting cancelled accounts come on back for 10 days, I can post again! Joy of Joys, praise be to Jebus, or that mysterious floating shrub; whatever you prefer.
Just what has happened to EricTheGreat during his hiatus?
The Despair
Cancelled. It was an unfortunate day, when I hit that button. What else was there to do? What else COULD I do? I was an orphan, all alone, with nowhere to go, no one to talk to. So I did what any rational, right minded person would do - I joined a traveling circus. Dusty Dilbert's Freak Show for the masses, tickets are $5 apiece or interesting trades accepted. But, as some of you are no doubt thinking, am I a freak? Not a paid one, at any rate. My jobs consisted of cleaning whatever dung Animal Boy decided to relieve himself of in his cage, trimming the hairs off the Bearded Lady's backside (an experience I sure do not care to elaborate on), threatening Lobster Boy with a tub of hot water if he didn't act lobstery (?) enough for our customers, among other equally odd and disturbing jobs. While the work was honest, my heart just wasnt in it. Was my life to be just one lobster boy after another? I bolted, and searched for something that would give me inner fullfillment.
The Journey
And so, I soldiered on. Which gave me an idea. Soldiering? SURE! So I decided to hire myself out to some Mongols as a mercenary. The Mongols had a plan to take control over all of China and our leader to become Khan, and I do NOT mean the James T. Kirk KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! No no no, this is like an emperor. As long as they paid me well enough, that's all I cared about. It was dangerous work, but I was good at it, and I have to tell you all, out there, there's more to fighting than headshots (ha!). Our leader, though, grew sick, and once he recovered, everything was different. All he had us go out and do was steal fruit; he told us, and I quote "Find fruits to excite my palette, or I shall hit you with a mallet!" Needless to say, this was not helping me on my journey for fullfillment from the absence SWG left in my heart. I left them, and ended up in Nepal, in a little town near the city of Pokhara.
My Salvation
In this little town, with not even a name to its credit, I thought would be my final resting place. I had no money, no prospects, and very little in the way of clothing. I had been selling strips of cloth off the shirt of my back to goat herders to wrap about the bunions on their feet, in exchange for letting me suck on the teat of one of their goats for the milk (dont be dirty, people!). It was after I collapsed in the street that my savior, friend, and lover, rescued me from myself and brough me into her place to recover. The place was the Happy Happy Goodtimes Brothel (now, that IS a rough translation, so bear with me), and the woman who rescued me was the Madam, a one legged prostitue who went the natural way in regards to body hair named Wanda. She, I must say, showed me how to be a man; she taught me how to love (cha ching!) and love myself. I recall with such fondness the cold nights we spent together, wrapped in each other's embrace, saying sweet nothings into each other's ear while we pick off the fleas like a couple of monkeys in heat. It was too short a romance, but she gave me the physical, and spiritual, fullfillment I needed to make my way through life.
The Resurrection
Life became much better from then on. I came back to the 'states, found women who understood hygiene and how to use a razor. That empty place in my heart from SWG is filled now with fond memories of a time I now recall with happiness, and not regret or sadness. And then one day I got an email, saying I could come back to SWG for 10 days.
The Present
So just WHAT has been going on!? How is the profession that I love so much? Excited that DE's/droids will become even more important once the expansion is out?
TK leaving as correspondent!?! Drashk making posts again!? Just who is this Tiggs? I hope you guys learn to manipulate him to get what you all want. Suggestion: slip 'em a mickey, muwhahaha!
I still see a lot of old faces (names?), which is great; I'm glad I'm seeing people keep on the good fight and not break like I did. I do hope you guys elect Jenden as your correspondent. We sure argued a LOT in the past ( droid commander.. sniffles) but he was and is always mature, and I think that if you guys get him he will bring that maturity to the DE debate and consider all viewpoints for this lovely profession. Then ask for the sexual favors
While I've been extremely busy lately, hopefully I will have time to come on and talk to you guys some more. I sincerely DO hope you all are keeping the, ahem, nuts and bolts, of the debate, smoothly going with some nice droid lube.

Welcome back, there are still a couple of us old timers who remember you. Can't remember exactly when you left, but the last big things to happen with DE were publishes 7 and 8, droid invasion and droids rebuilt. Droids invasion in the long run got us very little, slightly better combat droids (which were replaced with even better ones with droids rebuilt) and repair kits (similar to stimpacks). The repair kits are very handy, but other than that there wasn't much to it.
Droids rebuilt on the otherhand had all sorts of nice goodies. New modules include Creature harvesting, detonation (everyone loves the exploding mice droids), stimpack dispensor, entertainer effects (6 of them to be precise), music playback, trap throwing, merchant barker, maintenance, and auto-repair (might be forgetting one or two, don't have time to look them up righ tnow though). All combat capable droids (R-units, Probot, DZ70, and LE repair) got a nice HAM boost as well (Probots/DZ70's are 3200, R-units are 4500, and LE's are 6k), though armor did end up getting nerfed (down to 20% AR0) so its not really much of an improvement in the tanking department.
Some of the little annoying things have been fixed, modules now all show up in the deed examine window, deeds look like the actual droid, customization lasts for 200 calls, couple other random things...
All in all some good fixes have gone through, and things are supposed to be looking even better with JTLS
And thanks for the support for correspondent, between you and AO it does reassure me that I've kept my arguments civil, which is what I go for.

Woe is me!
Unfortunately only sticking around while I get a free trial to come back, but this is the WORST timing as I am in college and having midterms and papers due right at the moment. I didn't even sign back onto SWG myself, I had a friend do it so my character would be saved for at least a few months more until the expansion comes out.
So I doubt I will have time for many posts with just the short few days I have left. But when that expansion comes out, HEY! You all might just come to hate me with all the time I will spend on this board when I get it.
Someone needs to show SOE and their corporate junta whats what!
