I am so happy to see this again.

We asked for this pre-beta, we asked for it during beta, we asked for it post-beta, we asked for it 1 month after release and has been asking for it ever since.

So far ........ Not even an answer.

Makes you think, doesn't it?

makes me think soon you should say this:

we asked them during JTL beta, we asked them after JTL beta, we asked em during GCW beta, we asked em after GCW beta, still no answer, maybe because SWG by then will have its plug pulled for being so dang bugged!

First let me say, I agree. And would like to see something like that setup.

But also. In a way there are some chassis advantages. For example, if a probot and a R3 are created with combate modules of the same rateing. Then the probot chassis will have higher damage than the R3. And, a probot made without any combat modules, still has an attack ability. Then there is also the different HAMs for each droid.

But I would still like to see additional bonuses especailly to player skills. I just don't want anyone to miss out on the wonders of droid experimentation

Just a quick note, but as an aspiring DE it seems the only realy difference between chassis is the look (a major point of course) and the module capacity. Overall every chassis is the same (with a few minor minor exceptions like mouse droids and bombs). I would really like to see more base chassis differences. Give a Surgical Droid user a +10 to first aid and +10 to treatment speed; but ONLY if that chassis is used with a med module. Give a probot a +10 to accuracy and some special like stun or dizzy; but ONLY if that chassis is used for a combat droid. Give a treadwell some artisan special like +10 in assembly and +10 in technique.

This way a customer can still get whatever droid chassis they want, but unless they go with the chassis made for that unique application they they might forgo some bonuses. It seems this would not only add some spice it would alsocreate a market for the less used droid chassisas well as giving some visual variety to the game world...not all R2s.

It seems it would be relatively easy to code and might be a great boon to all involved.

Comments Welcome.

About the "some chassis has advantages" ...

Erm, well ... you have chassis X1 that has more HAM then chassisX2 that in his turn has more HAM then chassisX3 that has less HAM then X4.

Beside those differences there aren't really any to speak about except;

* Power droids have "recharge other droid" as an internal thing, but that makes them unable to hold repair modules.

* Binary Load Liftershave the"total-waste-of-space"-function,and is able to hold a heck loadof armor modules (for no appearant reason whatsoever).

* Surgical droids, Protocol droids, mouse droids and the treadwells are all the same except appearance and resource cost to make (Sorry, almost correct. The advanced surgical droid can hold one more module then the advanced versions of the three others.)

There really should be internal things for all chassis... Surgical droids should have a medic-bonus, astromechs should have a bonus when fixing/repairing/whatevering and load lifters should be able to carry more then any otrher droid ... and so on and so on.

But I doubt that will ever happen.
