Thread: New Chassis ideas

I just just reading through the current droid issues thread and when I got to the part about asking for new chassis it occured to me that, in the main, people are only asking for Battledroid and Droidika chassis (boy are they in for a suprise if we get them and they find out they are no harder than a twinked out R£.....but I digress)

I noticed a lot of calls for the 'Bug' droid (aka Death Star Droid) but for me there are a few other chassis that shouldnt be missed in the mad rush to get bugs and battledroids

The R1 would be great to stick in the novice DE box (I dont know about anyone else but I'd have welcomed any respite from mouse droid grinding) - I dont think the P2 would be such a good idea though

The Lin Demolitionmech (based on a Treadwell chassis)

The 4LOM Protocol droid

The FX Medical assistant droid

The MD Medical droid

and those are just ones shown in the films.........

New chassis would be nice, but why add new ones until the current ones (BLL anyone?) have a use? Different droids running around helps the immersion factor, but I want a reason to make anything but an Adv. R3. If you add different chassis, but don't give them inherent characteristics or 6 module slots, there won't be any reason to sell them (besides looks) that differentiates them from the existing droids.

So, until (unless?) they give droid chassis inherent characteristics, this is just "fluff" IMO, and a waste of programming time that could be better spent on fixing bugs.

Another good one: ASP droid, maybe that would be better for the novice DE instead of the r1, the R1 would be better in intermediate blueprints.

Maybe the FX 7? since its a stationary droid it could be useful for buffbots, since they dont move much either.

LIN demolitech would be great with this inherent function: mine laying, since its what its made for, how it could work... You could load mines into it, and maybe program a command that tells it to drop a mine, so when you say something like "dropmine" it would drop a mine at that location, it could do that till it has no mines left, then it needs more
