Thread: Fair price for new seekers/probes?
I think 1000 to 1200 for seekers is a fair price and in line with what they paid on vendor now .. as for Arakyds .. 10 times whatever they cost on vendor previously.
That way the BHs will be paying what they paid previously and we can make a profit. I am glad this is at least fixed now so you junior DEs can make some credits.
I'm going to charge 1k for Seekers and 6k for Araks.
In a way this is a relief. I was having a hard time keeping up with the demand ... especially since I sell a lot of high-end surgical droids and other droids with high-end medical modules. I'd rather use the EMMs and EGPs on those droids than low-profit BH droids.
If I recall correctly, Seekers used to cost 200cr each at BH terminals, and Probes used to cost 1000cr each. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here :smileyhappy

If we were to translate directly, we'd charge 1000cr for Seekers (200cr * 5 charges), and 10,000cr (!!!) for Probes (1000cr * 10 charges). The latter price for Probes is what I was curious about. It's obviously an outrageous profit margin for the DE, and seems silly.
So maybe we charge a lot less (say 5k apiece, like someone suggested)? This lets us finally make a good profit on something, and will still make the BH missions more profitable as well.
From a BHs perspective. 1k for the 5 charge seeker, and 6k for the Arakyds is reasonable. I would happily buy crates and crates of the stuff.
HOWEVER, if someone tried selling me a Arakyds for 10k I would tell them to go suck a **** . Please remember, when we were using vendors most people never made a profit. (I consider myselfvery good at investigation and the most I couldonly makeabout1k-3k, or wouldusuallycut costs even)

yes, 10k is 10 times the price for 10 times the usage. It evens out. I'll talk to a few BH's I know on my server and see what they're willing to pay.
I've been selling Arakyds for 1000 and the seekers for 200. Now I'm thinking I'll sell the Arakyds for 2000 and seekers for 500cr to start with. 1000 for a seeker is still probably a fair price though.
I put several Arakyds on my vendor last night. Between the resource shift and the factory bugs I haven't been able to come close to meeting demand for these droids on my server.
Honestly, I'm just happy to finally have some droids that people want to buy again!
Well..ill be starting factory runs on seekers and probes. I believe we should share the advantages of this change with the BH, not hog it and charge 1k and 10k. That would mean the BH are back to where they are now and we are the only ones who profit from the deal. As a matter of fact, the BH would be worse off because they will need to find where to buy them now instead of going to a known location. And you know how hard it is to find a DE since most of us have gone intohiding and are running around with only our Engineer tags over our heads. But here is how im going to sell to spread the weath of this change.
Seekers: 1k (5*200 seems to be fair)
Probes: 5k (10*500 half price on the terminal cost to share the wealth of the change)
I will more than likely will go less on crates of these even though it costs more to make them, but the click savings will more than make up for it.
After changes, I will sell Seekers for 300cr and Probes for 2500cr.
Remember, it won't cost us anymore resources to make the same Droids, but we can't gouge the Bounty Hunters.
They might try refusing to buy Droids and surrender back to Investigation 0.
As a BH I will say I would be willing to pay 300/use for Seekers and 1200/use for Arakyd. However lower prices would make me most happy. 200/use for Seekers and 1000/use for Arakyd would match what the vendors used to sell for. If you dropped it to 150/use for seekers and 800/use for Arakyd, I would take out the target of your choice.
Will kill for droids.
