Thread: Regarding Droid Permadeath (or lack thereof)and Stuff...
Droid pets will suffer vitality loss the same as CH pets do (instead of permanent death)
I'm sorry... but it is laughable to see how excited so many Droid Engineers are getting over the fact that they are changing droids from permadeath to the same system as other pet creatures. Why you ask? They are not 'changing' it ... they are changing it 'BACK'... or have you forgotten that there was a time when droids didn't actually die permanently? In fact... if you look at how things were, you will see that the essence of it all is actually a 'nerf' now that droids will suffer some sort of loss in vitality. I wonder if the vitality packs used on droids will be the same as those made by BE and used on creature pets?
Don't get me wrong, them deciding to change this is definitely a good thing I think. Though honestly... I would have beenas contentif they had just made all pets suffer permadeath.
A lot of fixes went in the last update for the DE’s
I sure wish someone would summarize the 'fixes' to which he is referring. Best I can figure, we got Item Storage finally fixed... that's it. Armor that had been previously removed was re-instated (it's still not working properly if you ask me) but that surely isn't a fix. Is that what they consider 'A lot' ? (theymay consider the colorizing of droid chassis a 'fix' ... but it surely isn't)
There is no mechanism in place to heal the white bar of a droid. We are going to add a repair kit for droids that artisans can make. This should take care of things for you.
I don't really even need to say anything about this comment. It speaks for itself.
Huge increase in the number of combat droids available for players.
Greatly increase the amount of droid customization.
Sorry... not holding my breath here. I'll believe it when I see 'em.
We realize you guys still need a lot of lovin’ on the profession just in terms of bugs to look at, and we’re using Gorantoth’s list as something to march down. But the DE bugs are proving to be pesky critters that are hard to stomp.
Wonder why they would reference Gorantoth's list instead of Sintrosi's? Could it be that it was posted on the Discussion board earlier today? Don't get me wrong... any acknowledgement of our dilema is appreciated... but I still feel like they are just dangling carrots in an effort to keep us from overwhelming the message boards as we did earlier today. It surprises me how so many of you can changeyour opinionsso quickly and dramatically, and let them continue to keep you just happy enough...
I agree with the mentality "I'll believe it when I see it". At least we got a response though, that's gotta count for something (I think). The question is do we see anything materialize from this in the next 2-3 weeks or will it just fade away and become a distant memory.
If the latter is the case then I certainly will forfeit Master DE and move on to a slightly more useful profession.
Although then again if the former is the case and we do see an increase in battle droids and individual functions for different models, then DE will be the best profession in the game (IMO) and could end up being worth the wait (though being ignored quickly wears thin my patience).

Yes, Jabetha, I am one of those people happy about it.
Why? Because I didn't think it would ever happen.
It has not changed my opinions on how SOE handles this game, Holo in particular, or any other thought I've ever had.
I'm just greatful I can sell Probots again.
That's it - it's very selfish, I'll admit.
There is a lot to do, and this really does what permadeath was promised - repeat customers.
When someone asks me, "How long does this last?" and I say, "100 deaths" - no one is going to blink an eye at buying them.
They have still treated us horribly, and this will not be forgotten.
But I honestly never thought they were going to fix this - and now we have the best of both worlds : the product is no longer everlasting, nor is it a disposable garbage can.
I'm sorry if you find it amusing that this is pleasing some of us - again, it doesn't make up for anything, but it gives me personally back a functionality that killed my main business.

LOL.. yes, the psychology of the situation was known a priori, and we are (pretty much) all falling for it.
We are nerfed... so any boosts from the devs will be greeted with much happiness.
They took, and caused resentment, now they give, and get more back than they took away in terms of how the community looks at them.

Perhaps in some cases, but not in my mind nor experience.
I'm happy for ME that they have changed this back, and IMHO it's better then before - this is sort of the "happy medium" between eterna-life and perma-death.
As I said above, this does NOTHING to enhance my views of the Devs, their mistakes, their attitude, etc.
But personally I am genuinely happy that I don't have to respond to a /tell every five minutes telling people to go to a CH/BE if they want a combat pet.
Again, it doesn't change any of the other stuff, but it makes my game better.
That's why I was pleased with the announcement.
I still think the devs are...**self edit**, especially Holo, who's comments seem like **self edit**...
Audio, who is just happy to have business back
