Thread: Does anyone know when we will be getting more doids?
I feel like this is a major issue here, because may of us believe that our current droids are useless. I would like to see battle droids of any kind (even Roger Rogers, because their annoying atributes will still be outweighed by ATTACKING and USEFULNESS).
Also, as someone who uses many extractors, I would love to see a droid that can help me manage my resourse extracton.
I realize that the answer will probably be "The Expansion", but at least it would be something to look forward to. I toiled my way to DE, and now I have stopped because every droid I made could just follow me around and look spiffy. I beg the Devs to supply us with a reason to pursue this profession. Any input would be appreciated. Thanx.
I think Holo would say, "Soon."
I bet before the expansion... I am peering deep into my mystic 8-Ball and I forsee a "balance pass" which will seriously hinder CH's and bring DE's some long overdue love.

The mystic 8-Ball has been known to be wrong though.
We haven't seen a useful update in ages, nor have we seen a dev-response in our forum in months.
(No, correcting perma-death to what it was before is not a useful update, it's fixing a pre-made error)
This game is about animals and guns, and that's where the focus is.
All we've gotten so far in the droid-department are "maybe", "we know there are bugs", "in the future" and "Oh! We deleted the functionality of that module too".
Sure, they haven't said that last statement. But they have done it to all our modules so far leaving us with even less useful items to make.
I've given up on SWG for the most part. I log in every couple days to refresh stuff and restock my vendors but there is no "game" to play here, unless you count camping spaceports.
The Dev philosophyat SOE is terminally messed up and I can use my own profession as a prime example. Two weeks after launch, Probots were nerfed by having their abilities reduced, then nerfed again by being made killable. The logic was that a probot was something anyone could own, and as they were, were too strong.
At the same time, tremendous lengths were being gone to in order to accomodate Creature Handlers who are now trading creatures that are at least as good as pre-nerf probots, and yet DE's are looking at weeks to months before we get something interesting to build. I say "weeks to months" because communication on the Dev level is so poor that no one tells us anything about our profession.
Feh.

The way I see it is: no news is good news. Eventually they will turn their attention to us, and when they do, it will be sweet. (cross fingers)
I feel that everyone has been saying the same thing for several months. It appears that the DEV's preffer to work on other programs that they are familiar with.
I believe the priorities are listed as:
Player creature mounts
Vehicles
Player cities
and after that... droids.
So it's not so bad being fourth down on the list. The only problem is, you'll note that the creature mounts video from the Friday Feature says, "We're still in the early stages of developing creature mounts..." That's where it gets sort of annoying, since it was implied early on that mounts and vehicles would be in the original game release. Come to think of it, so were player cities. So really, we only have to wait until they finish dealing with putting in all of the content that was supposed to be in the game in the first place before they go fixing the broken content that should have been repaired before they released.
If you'll pardon me, I'm having one of my bitter days.
