Many of the posts ive seen seem to center on things that are broken with the current droids. I think the bigger issue is the droids themselves. Fixing experimentation would be nice but would it really matter with the droids we have? Colorization? Who cares what color a useless droid is? Why is it nobody "needs" a droid like they "need" a gun or armor? Okay except bounty hunters but they dont need us to make them and even if they did its just cheapo bh droids and we arent going to get rich there.The fact that over half of the current droids would still be useless if all of the current bugs were fixed is a big deal. The number of viable droids to sell or even use is a joke, power and repair droids are useless to their owners and will be as long as only 1 droid can be called. Most of the droids being sold are for use as crafting stations these are one time sales and limit DEs to a very small market. Until we have a droid that is appealing to combatants as well as crafters we will not be able to support or trade. We need a droid to sell to the masses b4 out trade just dies. Its just not worth the effort to only be able to sell 2 droids a week.

Look at it this way... we are still selling droids right now, even they are broken. That means when they are fixed we are likely to sell more, not less.

Our rival, the CH, is currently selling lots of pets.. but they getting ever nearer a nurf that will likely cripple them. That means they are likely to sell less, not more.

In the short-term, DE has troubles.. the long-term we have THE most prosperous profession.

Expect business to tripple when droids can be customised ... you under-estimate the selling factor of a blue and white R2 unit.

I also think part of the problem is how others define what's good. Notice how the two things things you mentioned were combat oriented? When someone approaches you and asks "What's your best droid?" Do you think he means a) an R2 decked out with crafting station, med modules and inven modules or b) the best combat droid you don't have? The more I think about it, the more I agree with the posts that ask the devs to add more modules that enhance other non-combat oriented professions and skills.

I agree completely. I'd love to see extremely useful droids before I see my customization palette again.

I already sell a lot of droids, and actually I'm making more money off of BH droids right now than any of my high-dollar custom jobs. I realize the BH line is driven by necessity rather than luxury.. but what this tells me that people are looking for functionality. I get more customer questions regarding new features, ratherthan "dood what's yur best l33t c0mbat dr0id" inquiries anymore. Maybe the word is finally getting out that droids suck in combat, so they don't bother asking.. or maybe players honestly want a useful tool.

It's all up to interpretation... but as for myself, I'd love to see spiffy new modules rather than bigger blasters any day. (though I secretly lust for droideka since I'm such a lousy shot!)
