hi all, i just made it to novice DE and half-way through intermediate blueprints so all im making now are MSE droids (well, usually i build prototypes only). i dont have a lot of cash so i was thinking about making and selling MSE droids. But 1) im not sure why people would buy it. what use is a MSE droid have anyway? 2) at what price should i sell MSE droids?? will people pay 100, 500, 1000?

Anybody has some good advice on how to make some money?

Stick a crafting station in it and title it something catchy. I sell "Portable crafting stations" in the MSE for roughly 10k and sometime 15k if i think i can get away with it.

unless they've changed the skill tree since I was novice, he doesn't have the ability to make a crafting station module yet as a novice DE.

I sell MSE's with no modules in them as "toy bumper cars" for 350-550 cr. They don't sell all that well though, but people do buy them.

It's really hard to sell anything as a novice in this profession to tell you the truth. If you want MSE's to be sellable, you need access to the higher level item storage modules or crafting stations. detonation moduleswould sell well in an MSE too, but I have no idea when those become available.

but at novice, you don't have access to any worthwhile modules and so the MSE is pretty hard to sell at that stage.

one sellable item is the droid storage component that you get at novice. The architects need those to build crafting stations. But it's not a steady sell. The architects prefer to buy large numbers of them in factory crates, and its hard to find an architect who is looking for them. But if you are lucky enough to find an architect who needs some, offer to make a schematic for him if he gives you a sample of his resources and see what he'll pay you for it. I've sold manufacturing schematics of droid storage compartmentsfor 10k.

Well if you're only novice then your stuck with the 3 basic level 1 modules - I doubt you'll find much of a market for any of these now (althought medical is probably your best bet)

I used to sell level 1 medical droids for 3k (back when that was the bax bazaar price) but then I priced according to the module loadout not what kind of droid it was (stopped people going for the MSE just to keep the price down) - I did do a stint of selling un-moduled MSEs for about 500cr (but this was back when all droids had item storage by default) other than that I just stuck it on practice mode and got to the first blueprint box as quickly as I could

Your other alternative is to find a higher level DE and buy better modules off them to put in your low end chassis

Yep, my fault, missed the novice part. I know you can get the weapon crafting station pretty early on so go for that and then you can sell them in the fashion i mentioned.

To be honest i didnt really sell anything til i hit master. Which is probably not a good strategy.

if you want to be able to sell things in large quantities as early as possible in your DE career, your best bet, in my opinion, is to train up the blueprints track until you have access to bounty hunter arakyds and seekers. Then sell those. No amount of experimentation or skill has any effect on the quality of the BH droids. So even as a low level DE, your arakyds and seekers will be as good as those made by a Master DE. But once you have the ability to make those things, you need to find the BH's to sell them to. The BH's don't usually shop at the bazaar for their droids, and prefer to buy them in factory crates. but if you can get a factory up and running early and can mass produce the arakyds and seeker droids, and can get you vendor in a place that is easy for the BH's to find it..... then you can become economically viable as a DE pretty quickly. It's a lot of if's, I know. But that's the one thing you can potentially make as a low level DE that will always sell well once you've found the customers.

Of course, the BH droids require Master Artisan parts, so you'll need to get to master artisan to make them (or get a master artisans help). but you'll quickly find that so many of the DE parts require Master Artisan parts, that you'll probably want to be mastering artisan as soon as you can. it's possible to survive without master artisan as a DE, but it is very hard.

There are a couple possible ways you can sell them with what you've got. You can stick some MSE's with medical on the bazaar for 500-1k. probably the best idea though would be to make some "trader" MSE's with storage level 1. Sell these to people as a way to trade with overt faction players. Being limited to one storage space won't hurt the droid too much for this purpose, and its a market not very many people tap into. You could probably sell that one for 1-2k

They are also excellent for grouping with while running missions. Since they are very low CL, grinders can use them to max out their Combat XP. Play up that aspect and give them a 1 item storage module and you should be able to get at least 1k each.

After you hit BP III you might want to find a Master DE and sell him your Advanced Frames. You can also do what most DEs do and go into the resource business to fund your grind.

Good Luck and Welcome to the profession!

Medical module, for about 1-2K, on the bazaar.
Will sell better when you'll be able to put them in an R5.
Effect module and playback modules if you can find a musician.

Also, maybe think of buying modules from a higher level DE.

I never went the MSE selling path as a novice DE. I havested and sold resources to fund my grind to MDE. I made more cash selling the stuff them making useless MSE boxes. After I became a MDE I started selling droids..
