Assuming that one has factory crates... What would you consider to be the minimum items a MDE (or any DE really) have in their travelling kit? I'm a non-combatant, thus have no need for weapons/armour.

Besides droid parts... Will assume a very HQ chemical component for the final builds.

There are a few times I get asked about droids, and if I can make one. But, I don't always carry things with me.

(an example was the other night... Someone asked me what's the cheapest medical droid I can make... told him 4k for a MSE with a L6 Medical module... he didn't want that... *boggle* and I did have parts for that since I was moving stuff from one planet to my resource vendor - yes I use a vendor to hold all my stuff... It's my inventory keeper.)

I don't know. I don't build things just anywhere. If people want things, I have them send me an order, and I build it when I get back to my workshop. I haven't even made myself a craftbot

I keep my high quality resources (copper, fiber, poly, steel, etc) and crated common droid components (brains, frames, and more, hehe that rhymed) in my pack. I also keep a few high quality W/D/GI crafting tools (with the long crafting waits, you can get started on the next component/module) with my BLL that has a W/D/GI crafting station. I also have my survey tools so I can look for good resources while traveling, saves me a few survey droids. Basically, bring whatever you use most often, and the more unusual stuff for really special orders (vertex, vendusii, duralum, etc, I always get a BLL order when I dont expect it). Also, have crates of components for anything that needs them (seekers, probes, adv. droid brains, etc).

I think I carry everything but the kitchent sink... I know I carry all the named resources we need (with the exception of the repair kit ones), all the modules that take sub-components (and all the more common ones), crates of MM', GP's, brains, and all the sub-parts to make any droid with the exception of the advanced frames, crate of 10 just isn't worth it (yes, I even have a crate of power cores). I don't carry any advanced droid frames on me, more because of the 5 per crate deal and the fact that that would be a lot more crates to put in my backpack. A lot of it just builds up... people start asking for this or that so I start carrying the parts for it.

If you have 2 droids with 10 item storage, you can hold just about everything you need. I try to carry in crates : R3/R2/Probot/LE Repair/Protocol Adv frames. 1 Crate of Level 6 armor, 2 of level 4 armor, 2 crates of Combat modules (notsockets) in my 1st droid. 2nd Droid carries 1 crate of level 6 medical modules, 1 crate of level 6 item storage modules, 1 crate each of the 4 crafting modules, 1 crate of harvester modules, 1 crate of auto repair modules, and 1 crate of level3 Structure maintenance modules, 1 crate of stim dispenser modules.

These pretty much cover what I sell, I also keep spare crates of of all the Adv frames listed above in a 3rd droid.

This list reflects my demand. You may note I have no entertainer modules as I dont sell alot of them for some reason. Same with barkermodules. Also I keep my combat modules in module form instead of in a socket since R2s Probots and DZ70s need them in modules form, and sockets can be made in 30 seconds.

And with what I listed above, I can make 3 custom order droids in 15 minutes or less.

i have a bag like that i use to make droids with the vault (i mean storage vendor) next to me but with that bag i can make any droid and module combination takes about 60 inv slots to do this so 1 full bag and about 10 leftovers (counting free batts, over 2 tools, and some complimentary repair kits).

hope that helps
