I've been thinking about going Driod Enginneer since I now just got Master TKA and its seems like a fun option. I just have some questions.

1. How much money will it take to get all the minerals to grind to master Driod Engineer?

2. How should I go about getting the skills up to novice Driod Engineer?

3. Would it be smarter to get a little over a million dollars, then plant harvesters to get all the minerals required to grind, then once I'm Droid Engineer I will have some harvesters as a reliable source of minerals?

4. Lastly - What are your thoughts of fun in Driod Engineering? How is the money income? Is the interaction with community good? Exactly HOW customizeable can driods be in total? I just want to be DE because I feel like I can make people happy by supplying them with what they need, such as Seekers for BH, and Med Driods for Doctors.

Please post as much info as you can, and thanks!

I think it takes a little over 2 million steel and around 1 million Fiboplast to make it to master DE. Maybe a bit less, but count on needing alot of these two items.

As for how you should go about it. The Master DE list of craftable items is long. I mean real long. Everytime you fill a box of DE, you should try and make the new droids and modules you just gained access to. Alot of DE items require master artisan products to make. So it's advisable to either get master artisan as well, or try and find a consistant source of crates of EGPs EMMs Control units, and ESSs.

In this way, you will learn about all the modules you can make, and how they work. As well as gaining a knowledge of what droids will hold what modules. Also, by stopping and examining the new schematics you have access to, you will get a better feel for what special resources you will need to harvest, and there are alot of them.

If you grind your way straight up to master DE. Once you see your list of craftable items, you will be lost, and not have a clue about what resouces you need. But if you stop at every level, and get used to the new droids and modules, you will feel alot more confident when you make master.

Now as for economics. Droid sales are slow, as droids dont really decay the way every other craftable items do. So repeat business is slow as well. But if you try and make profession specific droids, then as people drop one profession for another, you have a chance of getting repeat sales.

1.If you were to buy them all? couple million probably. Less if you harvest your own.
2. make harvesters once you've got engineering 3, not sure what to make before then
3. Depends, if you want to get into resource harvesting than sure. I personally hate harvester management so I just buy all my resources.
4. I love the profession, there's a lot of variety to it. Its not like armorsmith where your stuck making the same thing over and over. As far as rare resources go its not that bad, and right now there's no loot drops to worry about. Droids are all completely modular, so you can customize them all you want. If your looking for a good money maker this probably isn't it, but if your looking for a profession you can have some fun with I'd say your on the right track.

1). It will takea bit more than400K steel and 350K fiberplast to get to master unless they changed exp gains recently. Price that on your server.

2). I made a lot of bone chest plates, but personal extractors work well too.

3). You are gonna need harvesters. All these people talking about "buying" resources either need to get people to extract the right resources for them, or they get lucky as heck finding the quality they need. The best stuff for making droids isn't easy to find.

4). I love making droids. Done it since launch through all the horrible pain, but we have nice stuff now. DO NOT undercut your fellow DE's. Price accordingly with the resources you got. If your neighbor DE is selling top of the line droids, but you only have resources to make mediocre sell it for a few thousand less, not knock the hell out of the market buy selling for 2 cpu's. The vehicle market it crap now thanks to undercutters and it will never come back. When its not worth making them, there won't be any quality droids anymore.

I just started DE and I'm having fun. It doesn't take millions to grind it. Maybe close but 700K steel

and 400K Fiber should be enough. It's working for me.
