Thread: Calling a Droid Makes Me Overt!

There i am, buffing a line of customers and someone from the opposing side of the GCW starts shooting at me and my repair droid (has 110 med and max storage). My factiondeclararion had stopped 30 minutes prior and I confirmed that I was covert. I did alittle testing and no matter which droid i call, i automatically go overt.
Is this normal or a bug? If it's normal, I will be dropping my faction affiliation. It's too dangerous to buff in public where anyone overt can kill me.
I hate to post this in the profession forum, but I figured the DEs would know something about this.

Not sure since i'm not a doctor, but I think if you Buff an Overt you get a TEF.

yes, I too think you buffed (accidentally) some overt guy...
I cannot imagine calling a droid makes you overt

I have never been made overt just by calling my droid. I think the buffing is the culprit here...

wow... Yes we know if you Buff, Heal, or Trade with an overt you get TEF.. but you say it dosnt matter which droid you call.... very odd indeed and no not normal at all. You are bugged my friend... Check it a few more times just to make sure. Pull droids out in the field, see what happens... if you are going overt when you pull a droid something is wrong and you should submit a bug report to the powers to be.

I figured out the problem. It looks like pets (droids and creatures) are overt with your faction automatically when they are called. Thier status is set to macth yours when you group them.
For example: you are a covert rebel and you call your droid. The droid is overt rebelautomatically. Once you group the droid with you, it then becomes covert too.
My problem was that my droid was not grouped. An overt of an opposing faction took a couple shots at my droid which, in turn, made me overt and vulnerable.

I still think you're bugged or the buffing is responsible. I spend my life calling my droids out and have never ever been made overt purely by calling a droid.

Once I went overt and then tried to go covert 3 times before finally getting jumped in coronet. My status under my personal tab said covert but I was definately overt. You probably had the same bug as me, and I've heard of other people having it to.
Did you get a TEF or were you overt, there's a bid difference.

Well it happens everytime you buff somebody.
When you are covert and youbuff someone that is overt you get flagged, and open to attack from anyone on the other side of the GCW.
Its not a bug, unfortunatly its the way it is.

You ALSO get a flag for buffing someone with a TEF, and you can't tell if someone has a TEF because the "flag" icon on their status bar only shows up for them.
